Torque Wrenches

It seems my torque wrench has grown legs or something. Haven't used it in a couple years, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it was lost in the move, What ever...

Can anyone give a good reccomendation for a torque wrench in the $100 price range. I know what a good one costs, and I don't want to get in that price range. I just need to torque down a few things in the 40/50/60 ft lb range. And probably torque my wheels every once in a while

Re: Torque Wrenches

I use a Husky and a Craftsman beam type. They are perfectly fine for my needs.

If you want the clicking ones, I've heard that Craftsman isn't that great. But the Kobalt ones are supposed to be good, and thats what I would go for when I get a clicking one.

tons of them.

if you go with craftsman go with the pro series, regular craftsman feels like poop with razor blades in the hands.

don't buy husky, home depot is going to stop making husky soon, so lifetime warranty my @ss.

listen to someone with a clicker

I got a clicker. I got a Craftsman clicker. It clicks fine for me and it should click just fine for you. Take it from someone who has a clicker which clicker is the clicker to take home.

I was looking for a 200lb torque wrench on ebay, so I could remove a leaf from my leaf springs, and also torque my rims to their correct torque (only been torqueing to 80ftlb's, cus thats as high as my current wrench goes heheh), anyway... I saw some for about 100$.

Grainger will only sell to you if you have a company account. Though Bruce may have, I didn't and they wouldn't let me get anything

don't ever EVER remove nuts and bolts with a torque wrench. it throws it out of calibration.

I have 2 Craftsman Torque wrenches. One for inch lb. and one for ft. lb. Never had a problem with either.

BTW- NEVER, and I repaet NEVER use a Torque wrech to loosen nuts or bolts. Fastest way to throw the #s off.

take the same spec to snap on, mac, or matco and you'll be paying double that.
