this has been asked many times.

i do have a pin, that i'm not going to use.

problem is that its match to my SSN # i believe. so they won't except it.

so there is bassically no way to use somebody else's pin? i have heard the stories about simply mentioning it and getting the xplan price. i know it is probably mostly bs...but do you think they are going to really go threw the trouble to check? if anyone has any ideas of how i can get one that would be great. i heard its like a year wait now for 1...that does not sound good to me.

if its a SoCal person...can they come with me to the dealer and get me the price, but i still pay for it and everything is still in my name?

sorry for all the questions, i am just trying to figure out how i am going to get one of these bad boys.

If you know anyone that works for Ford, you can see if they will give you one. They get 4 a year to give away. Also, you might try contacting Ford Investor Relations and ask them to send you some info, and the package sometimes contains acertificate for a free X-Plan.

I was at Galpin Ford today in SFV, and they were asking $2000 over MSRP. I asked about an x-plan and they told me it excluded SVT models. Anyone have any insight on this?

They said they were only getting 15 Lightnings from FORD and that is why they were marking them up.

thanks,
Noe

Tell them to take their Lightning and shove it! Many people have gotten X-plan or better on Lightnings(many on this board). My brother got X-plan on his and I got the same deal at a different dealership just by working them and knowing some people there(No X-plan). Shop around and never pay over sticker for any vehicle(that is crazy in my opinion). If ya tell em to stick it maybe they will call ya back in a few days and change their minds anyways. Just shop around and I am sure you will find a better deal. -Mat-

Thanks for the advice. I have been doing some research and it seems that it varies by dealer to dealer if they want to accept any plan. I guess I will be waiting till the end of the year to get one. That should give me some time to save up some money for a good down payment.

thanks,
Noe
