New twist on throwing a rod

Check this thread

Kinda shocked when I read this one, but I am sure that this is a one time occurence or should I say ,hope that this is extremely rare.
Not your typical rod throwing thread.

Might aswell buy short block while you got it all apart now! HAHAHHAHA

I think this would have to be a fluke in assembly.

I wish I could have seen pictures of his main caps......I can tell you this...On the turbo buicks that I build for some guys I have had them come back with the ARP studs knocked loose and the parting lines of the caps and block all chewed to chit cause the caps are walking around under detonation. Its one of the first things I look for. Dale

i figured a chip could cause a rod to fail by to high of rpm, but in his case thats not what it was (i think the ford motor builders on the assembly line fell asleep when it was their turn to do the torqueing the rod cap studs, and probably the plugs to hehe)

Do 5.4s have 4 bolt mains? That motor looked like it did.
