nitrous+6lb how safe?

is anyone running a 100 shot nitrous with a 6lb pulley and a stock block? how safe is it if the program is a little on the rich side ??? tuner said it would be ok but i don't want to mess anything up down low.

anytime you run nitrous (especially something like a 100 shot) you want a flip chip with a nitrous program specifically burned for that application (more fuel, less timing, etc)...

you want a multi-program chip because chances are you wont be running nitrous ALL the time so you want a program that isn't so rich on the street w/o nitrous.

as for 6# and 100 shot, you've got more ***** than i do. there's another guy running a 75 (or maybe a 100 shot?)..skip i think, with a 5# and has had no problems with it. however, you're putting a lot of faith there on our rods...let's just say most think a 6# on a daily driver is as much as you want to add....

good luck.

it *may* hold up it *may* not. anytime you're putting that much stress on the motor you're running a risk. With a 6# and 100 shot you're running a larger risk than someone with a 4#.

If you decide to go with it, MAKE SURE your programs are set up right, especially on the nitrous side.

If I were to go this route, I would have a couple of grand in my pocket ready to dive in a lot deeper (built motor, etc) before commiting my truck. Just my .02 though.

Good luck...one thing's for sure...she'll be quick!

Anything more than a 50hp shot with a 6# lower will result in an expensive rebuild! However a 50hp shot and a 6# lower is an awesome combo!

my tuner told me it would be no problem. but again ihave sent my chip back three times to get re-burned. somehow they cant get my program correct. mph is still off and second gear is comming in late. rev-limmiter is hitting and their is no way i am going to try the nitrous side. looking for another tuner that has a little more experiance.

I already got a 2# upper. I am almost afraid to put my 6# lower on with rebuilding my bottom end.

10secL runs a 100shot and a 5lb lower. I think he runs a superchip by JDM...He's been doing it for nearly a year on his stock block 2000 Lightning.
