Don't worry, my passenger side head gasket started leaking around 3,000 miles and I had it fixed by Ford at around 15,000 miles under warranty.

I see they didn't fix the problem on the 02, I wonder if they used the new gaskets that are available on the 02 heads???

head gasket leak

just had my 2000 5.4 in ford dealer said I let it run out of oil,so my fault engine seized. found oil in overflow tank and all over inside of intake,any suggestion ,loosened oonly supposed rod that failed still can't turn engine with breaker bar,any at all. suggestions

Started smelling oil at 53K on my 99L. Took it in and both head gaskets were leaking. Dealer fixed both under Premium ESP but they had to fight FORD for the claim as suposedly there is a $1,200 line item limit on the ESP. They told me that if it happens again I'm screwed. I think this is total BS...I bought the best warranty money could buy and they told me to hit the road if it happens again. Also, they said that you now have to pay for the first day on the rental...what a joke. I guess when their stock hits $8.xx a share then it's time to penny pinch.
