Bought in Sept 01 modded the hell out of it all winter long. First time ever racing I got a 12.59 (April 02) by the fall I ran a 12.29 (Oct 02).

Not much improvement but I never raced even close to stock.

your asking for me to look back along time, I can tell you the following.

When I bought her the best bone stock time I could get was a 13.8 at route 66.

I soon added a air filter kit and I was running consistent 13.7's

Then at cordova I discovered allong with other L owners what a chip was and what it could do for us. I put that superchip in and I pulled off consistent 13.4's with my truck, I was a happy camper with that right there.

Then Lightning bob told me to come to F150 and check it out, well I didn't do it for awhile and I waited and waited and finally I signed up and started to learn about the mods.

I then bought some bling bling mods here and there.

Then I ordered a JDM pulley, you all know that story.

Canceled that order and bought a PSP pulley and PSP 4 way chip, got a 90 milimeter mass air from JDM and then I was running pretty consistent 12.8's all day with E.T. streets.

Here and there I would do stuff like electric fan kit, TB, power cooler, and other things but then thenext I recal jumping up was running 12.4's with the juice on my truck then.

Then last year I did the big winter overhaul and did long tubes, converter with monster box, tracton bars and new slicks and front runners, 4lb lower and 2lb upper with a 50 shot. So far due to tranny issues and other porblems the best I've had is a 12.2 run, but that will easily be shattered this year when I get up to race. Hopefully with the juice on I can run allot faster then that too.

Some nice improvement there Fellows, WOW to some of the massive jumps in ET's in such a short time. And My God these Aftermarket Blowers are impressive

It would have been sooooooooo much cheaper to not have done any mods, and instead got an after market Blower, Chip + Filter.
PLUS MUCH FASTER

YOU NEW GUYS HAVE OPPORTUNITY'S WE NEVER HAD
DO IT RIGHT

Cool

I don't have the slips with me, but here's what I had on my only trip since the purchase. It was at Milan Mi w/temps in the upper 80s and 95% humidity. (almost foggy )

My best *pure* stock was a 14.1xx at 98.2ish mph (2 runs at these numbers w/a 1/2hr cooldown in-between runs)
It had 2500 miles on the odo and I was running 1/4 tank of gas (93 mobil) w/valvoline 5w-30 oil

After a 1/2 hour cool off, I punched 2 2-1/2 holes in the stock air box bottom, removed the snorkle and put in a brand new K&N panel filter w/about 50 miles on it. I also folded back the mirrors and removed the spare tire. The time in my sig was the best. the other three runs were very very close to this number but a scratch higher ET

Come this april I should be in the high 12s.

WOT

Oct.06/2001 - 1 month after getting truck - totally stock - 13.70@100mph

Winter comes = hibernate

Jun.25/2002 - modify truck..JDM stage1 + 4# +NGK plugs

Aug.10/2002 - dyno session - 392rwhp / 479rwtq

Sep.07/2002 - finally get to run truck with mods - 90 deg heat - 13.2@107mph

Sep.28/2002 - only mod added is silver bullet exh. - 65 deg weather - 12.92@110mph

Winters here = hibernate

2003 Season - I would like to run a mid 12 (12.4 or 12.5) and I feel that with the mph that the truck is running,
it can be had with some improvement to traction, and of course driving skills, hehe.
I finally got a set of TrukTraks(still to be installed, it's just to darn cold right now) and hopefully by spring I will have a set of Nitto drag radials.
Can't wait for spring to sprang..... or somethin

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Dan (LightningRod).

First time at the strip was in May of 2002 ... with a Modded
Airbox (Due to hanging out here, thanks guys!) and a K&N Filter.

Ran a 13.51 at 101 mph with a 2.10 60' on F1's

Then I threw a ton of money at it..... (Y'all know that feeling,
right?)

And the best I did was:

13.06 at 105 mph with a 1.94 60'

I have continued to spend money (TrucTracks, New Chip,
ET Streets, ROUSH lowering kit ... ) and haven't been able
to get back to the strip, but the STREET SOP seems like it
is much stronger. (Thanks, Sal!)

Can't wait for some more '02's to post ... Either DYNO numbers
or strip times ... I think they are all hanging around 12.90 - 13.10
but that's just my own observation.

Looking forward to the NMRA events this year ... And hope
to run on the twisties a bit more competitively ...

Cliff

ET Reduction

Hey Rob, I never raced my 2000 L while it was bone stock, even though I wish I did so that I could have a good baseline number. First time to the track, (Atco) in April of 2001 with a single program mild street chip, filter, 1 1/2 pound upper pulley, and M/T streets the truck ran a string of 13.0's including a 13.01. I was very unhappy because I wanted to pull a 12 sec run my first time out. Well, my next trip to the track on a cool dry night I went 12.83 and 12.87, and since then I've gone hogwild with mods and my best ET in the Fall of 2002 was a 12.04. That run was with what turned out to be a bad tranny (front pump failure) and has since been replaced with a good Monster box and a better design torque converter. Next time out, with any kind of traction my Silver Sled should break into the 11 sec zone. I'll find out when that Giant Solar Ball starts warming things up a little. BTW, you started a really cool thread, It's been nice reading everyone's replys and it's cool to see us all having a good time with our "Fast Hobby", Keep on Truckin', John H.
