Went to the dyno today

Had a great time there was one other Lightning there and about 14 cobras/mustangs there.
The other Lightning owner had all the mods that I have, plus long tube headers and exhaust, and an electric fan and cobra r water pump.

His truck made:
372 HP
366 TQ

My truck made
386 HP
481 TQ

Are my numbers good for the mods that I have?.
I think they are, opinions are welcome.

The numbers above are corrected, my uncorrected numbers are
401 HP
500TQ

Larry.

I forgot to add that my chip is set on the cold weather side right now because the temperature is a little low and I get detonation, so I think I would have done a little better had the weather been just a little warmer.

Your low rpm power is probably exceptional compared to a vehicle without the long tubes. From looking at your numbers, and your friends, I believe they are on the lower end of the range for the given mods, unfortunately, but you did say that your chip was running on the cold weather side, though. Overall, I sense you are happy, and that's what counts.

Im very happy, I figure that once I get my electric fan and cobra r water pump installed and change over to the warm weather side of my chip, I should top 400 HP.

when Sal was here in Houston for the dyno day custom tuning trucks, I witnessed a truck similiar to yours.. PSP chip and dyno tune, cold air (anderson Ford), accufab single blade, denso IT-20's and a 4lb lower and factory tech accumulator body. It made 396 and 490 at the wheels, sae corrected in 50 degree weather, so I would say you are right there where you should be.

sounds a little off

My truck with stock pullies on the eaton supercharger, made 387H.P. at the wheels with nothing other than a throttle body, Swanson Chip and Swanson Filter. Thats on pump gas in SoCal. Granted the torque was only 432 or so. Torque looks good but the H.P. looks a little low.

Not all trucks are created equal.

Good # for the amount of performance mods you have.

More importantly, not all DYNOS are created equal.

The only reason your regular Chip program can be detonating, is if your running major timing in it. So considering you were using a winter program with no detonation (low timing) and got those results, I'd say you did real good.

I run my regular street program 24/7 ALL YEAR LONG, it's 15 degrees of timing, and my race side is 17 degrees. It's been totally insane cold weather here in NY for a few months now, and I've never had ANY detonation, "on my race side either" (I drive it everyday) Which means you have an aggresive regular Chip program, which also means if you dyno it with that program when the weather breaks, YOU CAN EXPECT MUCH MORE POWER AND BETTER #'s

I put down the wrong number for the other truck,
the correct numbers are 372 HP, 466 TQ, way low for
the mods that he has.
