Same here. A little over 3 weeks now. The coated were in stock when I ordered; but, no midpipes. I got the mid pipes and cats on Tues.; but, now the headers are out. Talk about bad luck.

Oh well, no point in getting mad about it, we'll get them eventually.

Stainless for sure. Stainless is very good at retaining heat, almost as good as the coated, and will outlast the coated.
What about coating the stainless headers?

I've seen where some people are doing exactly that, but I'm not sure what that costs and if it's really worth it. Maybe someone who's had it done can fill us in on what kind of bucks we're gonna have to spend to have a set of SS headers ceramic coated, anybody want to chime in? John H.

Strange. I just talked to a guy in Youngstown Ohio about coating the headers for my Jeep. He quoted me $200-225 for full length headers. He coated my pipes for my Banshee about a year ago and they're holding up great. You can also contact Jet-Hot and they'll give you a quote.

I got my Kooks headers from PSP. Doesn't he sell them anymore? I got them last spring. I tried buying from another vendor and didn't care for his business tactics so I called PSP.

Sal can't get them anymore. It's a pain in the **** for him, too. He'd sell a crap load of them if he could get his hands on them reliably. I'm sure he's trying to work something out for his customers; but, right now there are very few options.

If I'm not mistaken, Jet-hot charges 300 bucks for LTs. That's more than I'm willing to pay on top of the stainless price.

If you coat the stainless headers JUST coat the inside that way the heat can transfer out of them.other wise it will get trapped and change the metalurgy of the stainless over time.that is what I did with mine.ALSO some say that you can not coat the entire inside of the header that is false the guy that does my coating for me showed my what they call an ID sprayer which was designed to coat the inside of tubes.Stan
