Question Bad S/c?????

Just got a call from the dealer about the whistle noise coming from my truck. She said possible S/C and they got parts on order. I’m not so sure I believe them because the mechanic said the S/C gets its oil from the motor. Does anyone know if I can take the belt off the S/C and drive it to eliminate the S/C. I’m not sure I want these guys’s messing with me truck!

Without the S/C there would be Neal and then everybody else.

Is that a SVT dealership? If a SVT mechanic told me that the S/C got its oil from the engine I would get out of there asap! No way I would let that airhead touch my truck .Then I would call SVT just to be a pain in the a$$.

The only "part" I would let them replace would be a whole
S/C ... Sounds like you need to ask the mechanic about his
OIL statement in front of the Service Advisor.....

Educating these folks is sometimes quite a task ...

Will see what happens when I go pick it up tonight, she said a different technician’s name that was working on it than the one that made the statement about the S/C being lubricated by the motors oil. Sounded to me like they want to replace the whole S/C. I’ll be getting the stethoscope out tomorrow to see if I can track the noise down.

It feels as if my n/a 5.4 x cab 4x4 is faster and rightfully so as are motors have less hp then an n/a 5.4 with out the blower.

Not too many people can go from a car to a truck and actually have the smaller and better handling vehicle be the truck.
