Opinions wanted

Ok I went and listened to some JL W6 V2's today and they sounded good, but the kickers are still louder I think.

so here's what its down to.

either two 12" kicker L7's

3 10" kicker L7's

or 4 8" kicker L7's

Any thought guys? personal experiences with them???

The JL's where always my favorites but I'm not sure the new W6's will out perform the L7's now. Anyone listen to both and think they know whats better?

I know I've been going back and forth guys, but I just want to do one last box and custom setup and be done with it!!!!!!!!!!

here;s how I look at it

The JL's are going to be cleaner then the kickers, but the kickers are going to be louder.

now my old setup I had 3 10" w3's with 700 watts going to them and it was pretty damn loud. now I would be using 10" w6 v2's with 1500 watts of juice so I would think it would be twice as loud and still sound clean too?

is my theory full of holes, HAHAHAHHAA.

Killa what do you do about airspace for all those subs. Do you have to have the windows down to get the full effect.

I have 3 10" JL w6s' and of course there loud as hell. My friend has two 10" L7s and they are just as loud if not louder than my JLs but he spent twice the money i did so if you have the money and want to be louder three 10" L7s. Also i was told that 10" or 8" inch speakers do better in smaller spaces like the cab of a truck.

Well Rtkilla, this is just my personal opinion, I have 2 Sub boxes one with 2 12 L7 and the other one with 4 10 Image Dynamics IDQ's both of the boxes are setup so that I can change from one to the other in like 20 seconds, and I least on my system the Solos are louder, the IDQ's seem to play a little cleaner and punchier but the L7's are louder, how much louder? well I have a Audiocontrol Epic 150 in the dash that tells you how loud My system is and also cleans the bass and makes it punchier, and with the IDQ's i can hit 139- 140dbs, maybe 141with music with a lot of bass (not a Bass cd) and with the Solos I can Hit 142-143 with normal music such as Pop rock and maybe 144-145 with a Bass cd, so most of the time I have the L7's on the truck Because like I said I least I don see much of a difference on SQ form one to the other but that might be because I have the Epic 150 and that cleans the Bass too, but the L7's are definitely Louder, just my 2 cents.

This is based on my experiences with building boxes. The end goal is to move air. The thing with our trucks is we dont have a huge amount of room behind the seats. I like 10's a little better than 12's. Them seem to have a little better response and have less flutter. I hate crowding speakers, I think two 10's are a little more efficient and are large enough to move the amount of air you can provide for them behind our seats. I've learn it is better to have a box too big for a speaker than too small.

I think your hearing will start going at 30

You will need a hearing aid at 40

And be deaf at 50

If you're gonna go deaf, it may as well be from a 95 inch Twin-Cam breathing fire through
2 1/4" straight dumps!

Well I love loud music guys so it natural!

My room has 6 12's in it with klipsch speakers and a $2300 M&K push and pull sub woofer. I can't get enough bass!

I can get .8 easy maybe 1 cubic foot of air space for each speaker with the JL's.
