Lightning missing at steady cruising??

hey guys,

I just put a factory tech valve body, and pan on, and filled trans
with MerconV.

Also did by pass valve (bypass) trick, and changed oil.

Now 2 days later, my truck is jumping while riding down
the road at a steady cruise.

The only other thoughts I have is, because of the crappy
winter gas mixes, and with my chip, I have run Shell 94
octane with non MMT octane booster (104 racing) to keep
it from pinging.

Could this have messed up a plug????

Johnny Lightning is installing Iridiums & supertuning with
Diablo chip in 2 weeks, should I worry about the "miss" or
just relax until the tune??????

Any ideas???

thanks,

Chuck in DE

YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT THE MISS

You have no choice, find it now.... Try pulling the coil wires one by one until you find the one THAT DOES NOT change the way it's running. Then figure out if it's a bad coil, or a melted plug

Sounds like you ate one of the electrodes off of a plug. Check it now man. You said you have to run octane booster to keep it from pinging.. Not a good sign considering they dont even work unless its Torco.

From my service manual(paraphrased to keep this 'short'):

Engine misses throughout driving speed range

1. Fuel filter clogged and/or impurities in the fuel system.
2. Faulty or incorrectly gapped plugs.
7. Weak or faulty ign. coils.
9. Vacuum leaks.
10. Dirty or clogged fuel injs.
11. Leaky EGR valve.

I left out what I thought was n/a.....but those are listed in their order of importance/possibilities.
