Well, if you get a choice, vote for my drug of choice....

M O R P H I N E !!!!!

I burst my appendix about 20 years ago, and I had a
few weeks of unadulterated fun on that stuff ...

j/k ... I never use drugs anymore ...

No drugs were killed or injured during this post...

Wow man, I just looked at this topic, ( Now accuse me of being a postwhore)

Wishing you the best of luck in a speedy recovery. I know how this must suck sitting on your *** all day.
Keep us posted on your steady steps back to normal

Btw......in 92, I had my appendix burst, but waited 4 days before calling an ambulance. In the hosiptal 21 days and was intoduced to that merry drug that they call morphine. OMG....I can see how people get strung out on that stuff.
They started weaning me off the stuff after about a week, I guess, ( Its all a bit fuzzy) But when the nurse started giving me percodin's for pain, I threw them at her and said I wanted my morphine LOL

Exclamation Morphine........

I don't think I will be getting Morphine this time around. I have some Oxy's and Tylenol #3 left from when I broke it and they are giving me Vicadin(Spelling>???). Starting to get really nervous as the hours wind down. It is at 7:45am and I think they are gonna try and send me home the same day depending on how things go. Boy am I not looking forward to going back on crutches. -Mat-

Post I am home.

Well everyone I am home. The surgery went well. I am in soo much pain right now though I can't even sleep. I am tired beyond belief but just can't dose off. My pain killers aren't doing anything except making me vomit. I certainly hope this is the last surgery because I don't think I can go thru with another one. Well I am gonna go lay back down. Thanks for all the support guys. -Mat

I am severly allergic to Vicadin. My doc said that alot of people are. Last time they gave it to me they had to stick an NG tube up my nose to pump my stomach because I looked like a fire hydrant of puke. You might suggest they prescribe something else. Just trying to make things easier on you. I know how much it hurts to be vomiting with all them stitch's. Good luck, glad your home.

Not to scare you or anything...

...but last year they killed two guys within a couple days in two different hospitals here in MN by using unsanitary cadaver parts. The two guys both went in for knee surgery, and came out dead. Naturally, BIG stink about the company providing the cadaver mat'l.

Take care!!!!! And good luck!

Talked to the doctor(he called me which I thought was very nice). He said I am most likely vomiting because I was given a lot of Anasteshia(spelling). He said if I can't sleep tonight he will prescribe me with a sleeping pill. So I will see 2night. I have taken vicaden before with no trouble so I am doubting that is giving me any problems except not doing anything for pain. Even my old oxycontins aren't doing anything. This just sucks. Thanks again guys! -Mat-
