Mine has orange peel all over it and spider crack marks are starting to show up. Its black so the better I wax it up and make it pretty the worse it shows. Oh well what to do?

The paint on the underside of my 2002 hood is very thin, to the point that the "edges" that meet the fenders are pale blue to an almost white color. The outside is well done with no runs, orange peel or other problems. Overall, a much better coat of paint than my black 99 had. My 99 "L" had tons of paint issues, including large cracks in the roof's rain grooves.

I have the same mark on the right side on my 01. Go figure. -Mat-

NO NO NO

Don not garage your vehicles, or lawn and garden equipment with fertilizers and pool chemicals. These chemicals are oxidizers and make a disaster out of painted metal. I can tell you from experience. If you don't believe me, take your 30k vehicle and prove me wrong.

Trust me. Grab one of those plastic little sheds and store the stuff in there, preferably not together!!!!

I've talked to a few people and apparently not only lightnings, but regualr f150's and expeditions have had a similar problem on the hoods. The dealer said to bring it in so they can assess what the best thing to do.

What are the odds of having the dealer put a cervini hood on under warrenty???? J/K

Haha. Too bad it's really my parents house. My dad's truck is in the garage, my truck is covered in the driveway!!!

Can't wait till my girl finishes with school so i can get my own garage.....minus chemicals to rot my truck!!!
