As far as the extended warranty I have spoken to many in the field and everyone says that the extended warranty sucks... not worth the $$ and you can use that extra cash for more mods.. but you are far from the extended warranty.

There's one life to live so live it to it's fullest and let the L live it up too! Pamper her like you would pamper yourself!

What do you want to run? Do you have a goal?

Miralys

Well around here (Dallas) the dealers arent as kind, so I have to watch the pulleys, etc...
the ext is nothing but an insurance policy.. I plan to drive this thing for awhile.. it will pay for itself if I throw a plug and ruin a head, or one of the other many documented issues with our wonderful trucks.. so its an insurance policy and nothing more..
I really dont have a goal but to have a very fast mostly stock truck that will go and go for miles and miles and look great the whole time doing it..

By the way, went to your site and the story on the Stang is incredible.. cant wait to see what you do to the HD..

Thanks
Dana

Dana,

If I had to do it over again, I would head more towards
the "HP mods" and away from the "Vanity" mods. The
throttle body is a good example. The stock T/B can handle
just about anything you can throw at it until you get
to insane levels of boost. There is even a post on here
comparing T/B's back a few months.

The chrome wheels are a real nice addition, as would be the
chromed stock exhaust tips ...

Since you are not pulley inclined, the air box / FastAir would
deliver some punch without a heavy dollar investment.

Then I would go after the suspension ... ROUSH seems to
fit my truck like a glove and the performance is incredible.

Electric fan maybe, and the Cobra water pump OR an
electric water pump. But there goes the warranty question
again.

The best cat back seems to be the Bassani, but it is a bit more
expensive than some of the other options. I had the Silver
Bullet from JDM and I thought it was pretty good for the buck.
But the Bassani IMHO is a much sweeter and calmer sound with
no DRONE at highway speeds.

Best bet is to develope a great relationship with a service
manager at FORD. Then you can get things done.

I think you are right on.. you know where I am going.. I also did the Line Valve mod for better shifting and am happy with it.. easy when I drive easy and hard when I drive hard..
The TB mod is also a bling bling thing (like that rhyme) too, so I'll probably waste my money on it.. there have been a lot of really good comments on the Hotchkiss drop kit, and its what my tuner likes to use and is familiar with it.. so that what I'll go with.. but the Roush sounds great and its good to be happy with it..
I am not convinced on the exhaust thing yet.. will probably stay stock..
Since it doesnt get that cold here, will probably stay with the stock fan and water pump..

But you have had the best advice so far.. get to know your Service Advisor..!!

Thanks

Dana
