I have a 95 f150 5.0 4x4 with a remote start. Lately, when I first start it, it idles rough for a few secounds (this am it was about a min.) then it smoothes out as normal. I have no check engine lights on. Could it be the fuel filter or plugs? I also noticed a gas leak just started from the rear gas tank but that will have to wait until warmer weather. I am going to replace the fuel filter today anyway, any special tools needed? Thanks for any help.

 

You may want to post this in one of the other F150 forums... unless I am in the wrong forum myself (this is the Lightning forum right guys?)... I hope you've replaced your fuel filter seevral times since 1995... if not, that's probably the problem. Good luck!

 

1. Vacuum leak(s)?
2. Leaking EGR valve or plugged PCV valve?
3. Dirty air filter?
4. Weak fuel pump?
