Maintenance of Super Charger
i love how our eaton sits on top of the motor, i was wondering if the eaton works on any other kind of motor like a gm... Would it fit on a vette or a ta? I dont like the vortec superchargers that site on the side, compared to ours. thanks, Shane
Good Post, lots of great info, bad horror story though
, that sucks when crap like that happens and the Company acts like *******s. Look at that, they let me keep the s from a$$holes
That story's enough to make me never send mine to them for a rebuild.

With the volume of blowers out there on '99 to '03 Lightnings and these trucks tacking on more miles each day, my bet is a reputable, customer service oriented shop will evolve as the preferred m112 blower re-builder. Especially if they might also be able to do some porting while the unit is apart.
Until proven any different, it does not appear Magnuson is that shop. Thanks for the warning!

animal:
eaton manufactures out superchargers they handle commercial manufacturing, magnuson is a subdivision of eaton that handles aftermarket s/cs and rebuilds.
Shane:
you might be able to find a non-centrifugal blower type maybe from magnacharger, not sure though, jackson, or whipple might make one as well. im particularly fond of the whipples, there is a shop across the highway from me called JR's that specializes in aftermarket stuff, they have a badas$ suburban with a polished whipple on it and bazo 22" spinning rims. i dont see why whipple wouldnt make one that would fit a ls1 unless theres not enough room. although i dont believe our s/c will in any way bolt on to a gm product without a lot of modification

I no my rotar packs are not stock issue and there is a chance that the bearings they installed were what there now calling the "defective batch"......either way...i was bent over and screwed royaly by Magnuson....Official ******** for Eaton, and as it turns out...i am not into that.
They were working on the works112 at the same time my blower was getting rebuilt.
I could use my lawer and the word of a bunch of svt techs, and win this case easily....but life is waaaaay too short for this b.s.
I am not the type to complain if my order from a tuner takes 2 months to get, or i get parts that don't fit, or i burn a plug and blame it on a tuner when in reality,i feel it is the owners responsibility ect ect.... it takes a lot for me to post negative info about bad dealings with any company.
Thanx for all of the info and the links they were very informative, when you hear back about the oil change interval let us know. That story definately makes me want to maintain my blower well, so that I don't have to have it rebuilt anytime soon, almost don't want to put a bigger pulley on either.
Thanx Again,

My 02 L with 6500 miles started making a grinding type noise from the engine. Sounded like it was a pully. Took it to the dealer and was shocked when I went to pick it up and they had chaged the SC and Plenium. It took away the noise and the engine ran quieter than ever. The tech wrote on the service papers that the SC was very low on oil. It was obvious that it came from the factory like that as there was no sign of any leak. I was later told that they have had several arrive at their dealership low on oil. The dealer I bought my L at was different and obviously hadn't checked the oil in the SC. I'm sure there are others.
I think you are supposed to check the oil level at 30000 but you might be wise to check it as quickly as possible and if low take it to the dealer.
Hope this helps someone avoid a possible problem.

Where is the check plug located? I didn't see anything in the supplement or manual indicating this. Haven't spent much time under the hood as of yet except to check the oil. Only has 200 miles on it.

With all the aftermarket blowers that are out,or soon to be out,it will be easy and cheap to pick up a spare in the near future.

Yeah, how close to the bottom of the plug does the oil need to be?
