My friends in trouble!

My friend with a new WS-6 Trans Am, was racing last night and was pulled over by a cop. Ticket says he was doing 68 in a 45. And then has that he was Carelessly without due caution and circumspection and at a speed in a manner so as to endanger person and property to witL Racing east bound on such and such road changing lanes. This is his first ever ticket and his 17. Any idea what hes looking at here? I believe its 2 tickets speeding and reckless driving. Any help would be useful thanks.

1. He's SCREWED.

2. GET A GOOD LAWYER (still screwed, only not as badly).

at least he's only 17. he's still a minor, in some states, they wipe your driving record clean when you turn 18.

depending on the judge, they may give him a break because he's young OR they may bust his *** hard to try and teach him a lesson so he wont act stupid street racing again.

just my .02

later,
chris

Don't count on the driving record wiped clean at 18 and your friend could be out a license for a while. States have really cracked down on street racing and want to send a message to the violators.

opinion

If they deem him as "RACING" he more than likely will lose his right to operate for a short period of time... Most Courts no matter what State look upon RACING harshly -

If it's not considered racing then probably a short driving instructional class at his expense and a hefty fine ...

I know the law here is you can only get one ticket if you are under 18. Two and you are out. NO more driving.
Get a lawyer and hope you can plea bargin and get off with one or the other. I also know that Wreckless Driving is $800+ fine in Georgia.

Your friend needs a GOOD Lawyer!

Been there, done that. Beat the Wreckless Driving charge. I did have a $400+ probation and driver school charge. I was doing 84 in a 45. It was 4am and I had been working 48 hour straight through and it was a country road coming into town. Well since it just was barely in the city limits, it was a huge fine and penalty. It was not fun! I hate going to court for anything. Your destiny lies in one persons hands, THE JUDGE.

i know that some officers will arrest you if your 20 mph over the speed limit cause 20 over is wreckless endangerment. My friend got pulled over doing 57/30 and they arrested him and he was booked and given a big fine. I was coming home one night about midnite and i passed a cop turning in the opposite direction that i was going . i passed him doing 65/30. He quickely whipped around and flipped the cherries on. Well it paid to know the gravel roads. I had that Triton roaring! I hid in friend of the familys barn, cut the lights off, and watched the offficer sail over the hill and make a hard left turn. He thought he was in hot pursuit! ILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN even though i got away.

your friends lookin at a stiff fine thats about it. Get a good lawyer!!

Well, if you ever get there, I don't think you want to bend over and pick up the soap or you might find out!
