I would just like to pipe in and give big big props to everyone for not flaming him for racing. Usually a thread like this doesnt even answer the persons question..people just start nagging him for street racing. Rock on guys! Looks like we are finally getting a little more understanding crowd in here.

Being 17 with a T/A already must mean high insurance rates. Prolly be super expensive after this.

Thumbs down

Not everyone in Howell / SE michigan with a Lightning is "hell bound". Frgetit, come on man. Lashing out at people who want to obey the law and not endanger other peoples lives is simply short sighted. Accordingly people who overreact towards "street racers" are also shortsided. But... they are right in thier position.

I'd juggest you take a second to read Romans 14:11-12 There is a bigger picture than the here and now buddy.

I just hope this young WS6 driver learns a lesson out of this. I did the same kind of stupid stuff when I was a kid. Did'nt slow down til it nearly killed me in the mountians one beautiful sat afternoon. I chose to learn the hard way because I ignored what the law said. Did'nt care at all; much as you sound in this post. Then one day I paid in pain and suffering. AND the following year and a half! Fornunately I did'nt kill or hurt someone in all my ignorance.

I'm all for racing. But at the track where it's legal and the other people there understand the risks. AND have chose to take those risks.

WOT

My 1st ticket when I was 17 was for doing 80 in a 20 mph zone. I was racing, and we passed a school. It was 1990, plus it was my 1st week in college at u of albany, and we were passing albany high. I got a reckless driving misdemeanor, on top of the 80 in a 20 ticket. They towed my brand new mustang conv. from the scene and threw me in the back of a paddy wagon and brought me downtown(jail). I had a clean record so they let me go on my word that i would show up in court. My lawyer got me reduced to 69 in a 20, and got the misdemeanor dropped. It meant that I didn't even loose my license. Best $5000 I ever spent.

Hey, I totally agree with you wydopnthrtl. I'm not preaching anything on here. I've done my share of stupid things in the past and can only be thankful that I didn't hurt anyone or get hurt myself. I've had fast cars, fast boats, fast PWC's and fast motorcycles now and in the past. I've just learned how to properly use them and where to use them. Attitudes like frgetit's is what bothers me the most. He gives the rest of the group a bad reputation. He thinks his chit don't stink and he can walk on water, but one day he might be the one lying in the hospital bed (or worse a morgue) or possibly some innocent victim could be because of his attitude. In my opinion though, it's more talk than action. The majority of the Lighning owners I know personally or have read on this forum are great guys. It's just to bad a few have to disrespect the the rest of them with their attitude.

Do me 2 favors will ya ?

Tone down the attitude and shrink your signature picture. It has NOTHING to do wuth Lightnings. And it wastes 40+k of bandwidth everytime you post it...

Thanks in advance
Doug
PS- Before you decide to uncoild your badass attitude on me - I have heard it all before.

I for one am glad he got the ticket at 17. Maybe he will learn and grow up. Not that I have, but some people do learn.

And I suppose frgetit will change his tude when himself or someone close to him is hurt or killed because of the conditions he so lovingly like to be in.

Peace out

Man, What a bunch of BS.
If all you guy's throwin the proverbial "stones" really expect for us to believe that you don't get on it every once in a while, that y'all are a bunch of crosswalk stoppin', yellow light slowin', speed limit abidin' so and so's. Then you are giving us all the "Jim Bakker"
Abiding the law and quotin' scripture isn't what gets you to your "Pearly gates" my friend. The law is merely legislation (Ideas written up) lawmakers (See politicians) and the majority of the citizens have ratified (Decided they like), and is as a result perceived as a social norm, Norm.
Any racer out ther worth salt has street time in, no denying it. Hell(sorry about the pun), I venture a guess that most of you replying with the "Brimstone an' Fahre", have seen what your truck can do once or thrice, haven't ya'?
I mean come on, Wydopnthrtl??? That is your screenname. wazzatmean? er, uh...
Those of us smart enough to wipe ourselves realize the risks associated with the crime, and accept it accordingly and adjust where this will take place. We all have our standards of where we take our risks. some don't speed, some do 70 in the 65 zone, others go 80 in the same, we all draw our own line, if it crosses yours, so sorry, just have a look behind, as you are probably crossing someone elses moral high ground. To Quote a Monty Python Movie "Lest he who is without sin cast the first stone".
So ease up, Check yourself, and quit being a hypocrite,

Think before you drink. the last in no way is meant to be a joke. Do not Drink and Drive, EVER (slows reaction time out of the gate).

Ok, First of all WOT, most in Howell are not hellbound my friend, I am sure...did I mention Howell?..... Also, I wasn't lashing at anyone...if all will intelligently read my first post, I was just standing and congratulating all for maturely answering the posters question, whereas usually many would have lurched at him and his friends for racing as opposed to helping them. Plain & simple. Then, Navi Man, who follows me around with worry-beads in his hands pipes up and start sobbing at me (should have saw that coming...he was one of the guys who gave good advice & didn't attack...AT FIRST...guess I bring out the best in him). Period. Also I am Atheist...no bibles thanks. I dig your truck though..I think Ive seen you around the area..

Silver2000
1. No attitude, I am very mellow...I think if you look, I am generally just defending myself or others, usually after a "JOKE" is cracked. RARELY do I attack first...and only for just cause.
2. Sig is 86'd. Ya can only look at so many trucks, ya never know who the hell drives 'em.
3. The only time I uncoil is to ****.. Plus, I can only assume having it out with you would result in my ultimate suspension....and that would suck. This board is a hoot. Most are very fun and humorous, as well as intensely helpful & knowledgeable. It's just the ones who feel the utter need to charge in constantly and douse the fire of fun. If someone jokes, or pokes fun, they rush in and flood us with tears & crys of justness...it can be a real speedbump in the road to enjoyment of this organization.

Gator
I am not a racer...my truck is quick, but its not that fast...I just know I have and may again someday, and am not going to try and play as if I am "smudge free". I have lost many...MANY, most to cars, some to expensive drugs, a few to gun violence and will soon lose one to Ataxia . It happens..no one is invincible...never settle into life with the ignorant assumption it can't change drastically at any second. No amount of prayer, goodness, charity or otherwise will ensure your loved ones will not be ripped from your grasp at any moment, by something out of our control. Can we all never leave our homes because of terrorists, street racers & violence? No. Always be ready to start over. Just my .02 dude.

PhatFarm
Tell it like it is bro. But get ready...you'll get a scoldin' from mom & dad just like me, even though ALL I DID was mention how it was nice to see everyone giving advice on the ticket, lawyer & so on...instead of ATTACKING his choice to race...instead, I guess I left myself open for attacks. Live & learn. Guess next time I will just admire our occasional collective "maturity" in silence....

Take care all

G

That's hilarious! I have over 700 posts, and maybe 4 or 5 have anything to do with you. Don't flatter yourself.

All I asked was do you condone street racing, then you go ballistic with your attitude. It obviously takes very little to get you riled. Maybe a little anger management is needed. Obviously getting under your skin is easy to do.
