how many people ask what you are driving? i had a guy ask me today if my bumper cover was stock? they come that way he asked?

My dad had a 64 GTO, and in 64, a gto was just a lemans with a big engine and badges. =)

I'll probably get flamed just saying something, but that's ok. But I got my truck pelted by a bunch of rocks by a idiot that spun out in front of me one day, like a couple of months after bought my 01 XLT REG Flareside . To make a long story short. His insurance paid for my repairs and I liked the lightning front bumper...so I bought it with the insurance money. After installing it, my parents bought me the lightning sides skirts for Christmas so any way. I guess you can call me a lightning wanna be?? But I would in no way put SVT of Lightning badges on my truck, because it is no way a lightning and never will be. I think owning a lightning is a privilege, kinda like SilverStreak02 said. I will have the Gen 3 lightning, already started saving. Can't wait until 05

the bottom line is, Lightnings are BAD A$$, and strike fear into the hearts of the competition (pun intended ) that truck, on the other hand, is not bad a$$. it is a gay looking, disproportioned, longbed poserwagon. how he got a girl into it is beyond me. that truck would at least be "all right" if it was a flareside, and preferably a short cab...then it would at least have the sweet looks of a Lightning.

BTW, how do you plan to keep that tranmission alive?
Well I am rebuilding my trannny buy will probably swap it for a 4r100 I just need to check a few things. Yes it will clear I just have to find a program for it. Right now I am putting 240 to the ground w/ my truck. My goal is at least an 11.9x in this truck and it can be done. There are screws out there running 12.9's w/ a VERY mild tune w/ prochargers. W/ mine I am rebuilding the motor w manley rods and pistons( I get manley at cost), port and polishing the heads, forged crank JDM full exhaust, procharger w/ pulley(15 lbs boost) and intercooler, high flow fuel rail and pump to make sure I am getting plenty of flow, 42 lb injectors with NOSzle kit, 4.10 frrp gears, and a tune by Dom on a diablo black chip. The procharger is my first choice as ATI makes a quality product, however I am also looking to see what whipple is GOING to be offering for our trucks. Traction will not be a problem as I will be running w/ a 4 link suspension. So I figure with my mods( the guys running screws arent as modded as this) plus my lighter weight I CAN accomplish this. Labor will be nonexistant as I have full access to a machine shop as well as the experience. So essentially I jsut need time instead of $$. Even if I dont hit 11's I know I can do no worse than a low 12 which is completely respectable. We'll jsut have to see how it compares to my 77 280z w/ a I-6 stroker motor project I am currently working on

BTW I swictched the centercaps on my hweels so they say ford instead of svt so nowhere does it say svt on my truck. @ ford badges 3 F150 badges(no xl or xlt just f150) and the 4 black ford logos on the wheels. SO its a semi-psuedo sleeper as everyone around here knows its not an L but I do get respect because I am straight up about it and eat their ricers for lunch. She likes Chuvys on occasion too ! Matter of fact I had rice for lunch and american for dinner! LOL couldnt get either to run a 3rd time. Losin 2x was enough for em! And yes like I said I will ahve an L w/ a year but I love cars and really enjo saying my truck can eat your car and **** it out no problem and I did it all w/ my own 2 hands! Partin of the fun ( I think) is the enjoyment of workin on them and seeing the result of your work. I take pride in that. Check a pic of this..I restored it after this and got rearended totalling it but at the age of 19 I did a full teardown and restoration and did all the work myself never having seen let alone worked on one w/ nothing but the Haynes manual for a 67 beetle. It had a 1200 cc bored out to make 1323 cc and could run the 1/4 in about 17 However top speed was hit in the 1st 300 ft because of the gearing! Hella cool for offroading though

that sounds expensive.... it would be cheaper to get a Lightning ... 11's in a truck is an accomplishment!! good luck on your truck...

Where did you get the Ford center caps for the L rims ?
I got a set of L rims, and have been looking for something to replace the SVT center caps with, the closest are the ones from replica wheels, but that is a lightning bolt, it doesn't belong on there either.

I would like some get some non-SVT centers, as the SVT centers do not belong on my SCrew.

Thanks.

And I bet you believe in Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny.
