you"L" guys are gonna hate this,imposter...
What is a lightning but an F-150 Stepside Shortbox with a 5.4 Supercharged????
So why try to B.S. us or anyone else for that matter.
You only accomplish one thing by slapping the SVT badges on your wanna be Lightning, you make yourself look foolish.
Do yourself a favor, take the bagdges off, then you can pride yourself on having a "sleeper", and maybe retain some respect from the "L" community at the same time,
because a Lightning is more than a S/C'd stepside, it is an original icon, not to be blasphemed by posers.
It should never be mistaked for the real deal. Badges do not make an L, thats why I loose nothing when I will remove mine. What do you think of all the wanna bee's putting the "M" on their 320 i's? Weak in character if you ask me.

It's a truck, a vehicle, a mode of enjoyable transportation and utilitarian haul-it-all. It's not a god to be worshiped
, or a free pass that will turn a bunch of ******* into respectable human beings (that's evident!)
If John Force were to Put a truck body with Lightning badges on his funny car, would you put him down as an imposter?

i see this same thing with gto's.i do not care if someone does this be-it a gto or a lightning as we can usually tell pretty easy. what i see with the gto's is people cashing in on other people's stupidity. people are redoing tempest's and lemans throwing on the gto stuff a walla you now have a car that is more desirable and worth morre$$$ if you don't know what you are looking at.
how many people ask what you are driving? i had a guy ask me today if my bumper cover was stock? they come that way he asked?

First off, not only is it to be worshipped. It is to be held in the highest esteem. When one is seen comming down the road, it is looked at in awe. As for the owner of a REAL L, he should be looked at with the respect that is due a person who says "Only the best will do."
Second...If John Force stuck a Lightning body on his funny car, you can bet your sweet holier than thou ***, we would all be talking about how it ain't a true L.
Rocks
A Lightning is a cool truck, but for $30,000 anybody can buy one. It's not like they aren't available. Heck, I see just as many Lightnings as I do Navigators in my area. Like I said, they are cool trucks and everybody chooses what they want to buy, but if I really wanted to have something unique, I would go out and find myself a muscle car from the 60's or 70's, restore it, build the crap out of the engine and get a high loping cam in the beast and shake the chit out of anything near me. Nothing like a high compression, over cammed big block to scare the crap out of old ladys. Those were the days of real power.

I bought my truck for $17,000...
Got the badges and taillights from a friend for $15.00
And I bought my 5.4 for $600.00 and spent $278.00 in upgrades
How are your monthly payments?

Your justification for driving a fake and having the guts to be seen in your poser mobile is to save a little money ... Dude you still need at least 380/450, 18', suspension, transmission, and etc etc etc.... and in the end it will never be a lightning .... build a nice truck but dont make yourself look like a fool

Naw, no lighning badges Red. My point was, a few posts were made that made it seem like a Lightning was this rare type vehicle that very few people have and it's some kind of honor to even own one. Now I like Lighnings a lot. It's just not a practical vehicle for me. There are a lot of vehicles that I think are really cool.
As for people making something look like something it isn't, it really doesn't bother me, even if I owned an L. I wouldn't do it myself, but it isn't my style to put people down who do, as I just prefer to ignore it and let it be. But that's just me. To many people get caught up in this hate mentality.
Loud, no a/c, spools, no reliability ..ya those were the days..
There were also quit a few that were pretty nice riding vehicles also. My parents had a very rare 1968 Cougar XR7 GTE with a 427 in it (I was 16 at the time). It put out 390hp stock (which was very conservatively rated) and with a little modding would easily put out 425hp+. It would ride nice, handled very well, had leather interior, was very well equiped and just a nice low rumble from the exhaust that let you know it had some power. If you took that same car now and equiped it with the right tires and handling packages that are available, it would scare the chit out of most new vehicles.
