Just a few rants about a clean L...

So I take the L to work today because it hasn't rained or snowed in a few days, and there is a cool hand car wash by my work. There is salt on the road but it is all dried up so it's all good. I like to keep the L clean, but I am not nutty about it because then I would really go nuts.

Here are a few things that happened today while driving the L AFTER it was cleaned.

The jerk in front me decides to wash his windshield doing 65 mph. Doesn't he know that the fluid blows right up the windshield onto the car behind him?

Like I said, it hasn't rained or snowed in a few days. So why when I go under a bridge, do giant drops of water have to hit smack in the center of the hood and windshield? What are the odds of that? Where does this water come from?

Another bridge, I somehow avoid the water that dripped, but the guy's car in front of me is a mess and doesn't care about hitting the puddle of water that is on the side of the road. It is not even in the middle of the road, it's in the shoulder! Spray number 3

After that I was lucky enough to get stuck behind a flatbed truck. You know the kind. The kind that has a freakin backhoe on the back and it sounds like I am going to hail with all of the rocks and dirt hitting my windshield.

Last one. So I end up at Home Depot to get the bolts for the console mod. Like everyone else I have to park way in the back at an end spot. No, nobody parked next to me. (That happens all the time too). So I get nice and close to the curb. In fact, I got so close that I scraped all of the armor all off the tires that I just wasted $4 getting. I know armor all doesn't last in cold temperatures, but it looked so good when I got it done.

That's all for now. I feel better. On a lighter note, I got the upper 1# on recently. A hair over 16# boost in 36 degree temp at WOT and no pinging. Maybe it is a soft program but I'll take it. I need a

Understandable rant.......but you should know it is impossible to stay clean this time of year. That's why mine is tucked away in my garage under it's cover.

I hear ya Soap. But I get sick of driving the Ranger.

You should know that a clear car always makes it rain. The annoying rain is when it rains lightly for like 5 minutes, just enough to get all of the spots on it.

If you want it to stay clean, lock it up in a heated garage in a bubble. Driving even 100 ft down the road is already getting your truck dirty, and water comes off. You just can't expect people to purposely avoid puddles, and let their windows get dirtied up, just to keep someone else's vehicle clean.

One sure way to fix that......do what I did!

--Buy an 87 S10 Blazer 4x4 for $3000 and drive it all winter...Now I have no problems with my clean SVT

Took a lil $$$ out of the mod account--but it all works out in the end...

Here's to spring

It's not so bad. At least you didn't get some old lady that decided to feed the segals in the parking lot and have them Sh** on your freshly waxed L. I do feel your pain though

I totally feel your pain, Paul. As stated in a post a couple of days ago, mine's been in the garage since 12/13 when I detailed it.

I have a good scenario for ya'. I spend 2 hours washing/drying/Z6...go to pull out of the driveway and literally 15 seconds before I go to pull out..a stream of water with the force of a sunami (sp?) rushes down the street and of course, right in front of my driveway. Neighbor's pool draining. That's happened, I don't know how many times.

At least you made it a couple of miles away from your house. I can't even leave the damn driveway without getting trashed.

I DEFINITELY plan to go for a cruise tomorrow though. I've been itching for too long now.

See ya'

Dan

Hey Dan,

That's funny. Are you sure that wasn't Mike trying to sabatoge you with the neighbor's pool? (He has a pool business).

We'll be there tomorrow. I don't think I am going to take the ride to Hooters though. I actually work about a mile from Hooters in Wayne and don't feel like going by work.

You guys understand that I wasn't bitching about the people who did those things, just the situations.

Very funny Gator, I do the same things when I am in my Ranger. Just kidding
