Doing their job and not getting the credit they deserve.

I've noticed the reason you don't hear about good cops is because most people don't talk about or remember good things. A good cop isn't going to pull someone over on some BS thing, a good cop may let alot of speeders of with a slow down warning. A good cop doesn't get press. Thats where they all are. And it's a d@mn shame that they over-shadowed by yo-yo's who don't deserve to have a badge like Mr. I'm gonna abuse you my power and shoot a dog.

I give credit and alot of respect to the *good* cops. It's gotta be hard to go out there and do a job that puts your life at risk for benefits that don't balance it out that much. Only to come home and find out that over-payed sports players are striking and whining because they want more money.

But I hate the bad cops, which unfortunately seems to be growing in numbers as the days go by.

I don't like the argument that "oh they don't get paid enough for what they go through." Do I agree? Yes. I think the risks in their line of work are not worth the rewards. And I feel the same way about being a janitor or working at McDonald's. I don't think sweeping and cleaning toilets is worth the 6-7 dollars an hour. Nor do I believe the embarassment of wearing a McDonald's uniform and making fries all day is worth it. But why sit there and complain all day? It's a JOB. You don't like it? Quit! Don't be bitter!

IMO Cops choose to be cops. If they don't like the pay or the dangers involved then maybe they should get a better education and get a real job with less risk and better pay.

On the other hand I have a lot of friends that are cops and for the most part they are good guys who enjoy their jobs and don't mess with people just because they can. These few are given a bad name because of the idiot cops out there strictly to abuse their power. I'd say the ratio is about 50-50.

I dont think i've ever seen something more appaling than someone's dog being blown to bits in front of their own eyes. As a speeder and dog owner, I just hope I never get pulled over on the way to the vet.

They only suck if you're not one. And on another note, (i kno this is the wrong place to ask) but can you order a new Crown Vic police package? They have a 4.6/305 hp, and are cooler looking lighter, and therefore faster cars. And who wouldn't want to scare the hell out of a stranger.

I wasn't pushing that as an argument, it was more of a "how screwed up society can be in their priorities".

It's a real shame when someone will risk their life every working day only to have artist bought out of a contract for $30 million b/c a record company doesn't want to deal with them. Screwed up yes, but hey it's life.

And part of me does think that cops shouldn't be paid to much b/c that work as a deterant for the ones who shouldn't be a cop. The flipside is crappy pay turns some some into crooks.

when did police packages up the output to 305hp?? are you talking about the marauder?

it DOES suck even if you ARE one. sh*t pay and lots of risks isn't exactly the coolest job in the world. unless you think it's really like the movie "Super Troopers."

My post wasn't aimed at you captainoblivious. i was just bringing up another point. I agree with you to a point, about how it's ridiculous how no-talent a$$clowns these days make so much money in the entertainment industry. however i also agree with dealerjim in that they choose their line of work and they should accept the risks and not complain about it. too many police officers think that their job somehow makes them better than others and above the law. simply NOT true.

Here is an article that shows the dangers a cop faces everytime they go out on a call. To make a blanket statement that "I hate all cops" or all cops are bad, is like saying that all Lightning owners are egotistical jerks that haven't grown up yet and are worthless punks. While both statements are true for a small percentage of each group, it hardly touches the surface of all the quality people that are involved in each group. Some of you people on this forum are to full of yourself and put forth very little class. A Lightning is a very cool truck, unfortunately some of you think it makes you superior to the world.

Unhappy Who Here Hates Cops?

Well I ought to............................. kick some of you summbit$#es in the ****. The risks and sacrifices your average cop or law enforcement professional make on a daily basis are usually not comprehendable to the average Joe. LONG work days, crap pay, disrespect by a good portion of the public, high stress and risks involved etc. Granted, like most professions, certain individuals on ego or power trips gravitate towards the LE field due to the obvious factors. However, by and large, cops are out to enforce the law and protect the public from risk. PERIOD. Those that cannot understand this fact are the ones who always bitc% about cops. Best advice is keep your nose clean, don't be stupid in your actions (excessive speed, burnouts) and 9 times out of 10 you'll get off lightly. Holeshot, you need some help son. Quit blaming others and take responsibility. Good luck on your plan for governmental change. You must be smoking some serious weed and living in a real bad place. Good luck with your problems.

I now know why good cops become bad cops. They have have to deal with stupid ignorant people like on this post that are talking ***** about cops. I would beat the ***** out of you too. You all have the "Above the Law" mentality, with the whole whiny "why are you pulling me over when you should be catching murderers and rapists". You want to know why, you are breaking the law dip *****. If you don't want to be "hassled" by police, then don't break the law and when you do, take responsiblity for your actions.

We all know that you will be kissing the cops a$$ when you need their help. Even if they knew that you hate them, they would still help you, that's their job.
