Question 1st Generation Lightning Experts Looky Here!

Am I really that wet behind the ears or are there many little things like this that have already been discussed by all yous?

Anyway, I've been contacted a while back by a fellow with a First Gen Lightning Supercab.... and I would like to add him to the registry: www.SVTregistry.com/lightning but what build #'s do I use?

What do you think guys? According to the scan he send me of the letter from Full Effect (company that did these lightnings) they state that they got actual lightnings from the factory, ordered supercabs from Ford and fitted the lightnings with those cabs... pretty interesting.

I figure since the lightnings were ordered from factory and than retrofitted, they should have the build #'s officialy issued to those lightnings before they were retrofitted, what do you think?

let me know folks.... and here's a link to the site of one of those SuperCab owners who also got his truck from Full Effect. http://geocities.com/lightningroy/ROYS/photo.htm

Just curious why your site says.........

2nd Generation Lightning: included model years 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. These were the fastest production trucks sold in America! The 1999 and 2000 Lightnings featured a 5.4 liter/330 cid 90° Eaton Supercharged Triton™ V-8 motor rated at 360 hp @ 4750 rpm and 440 lbs.-ft. @ 3000 rpm capable of 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and the top speed governed at 140mph. The 2001 and 2002 trucks however got a little more boost out of the box featuring a 5.4 liter/330 cid 90° Eaton Supercharged Triton™ V-8 motor rated at 380 hp @ 4750 rpm and 450 lbs.-ft. @ 3250 rpm now capable of 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and top speed governed at 142mph!

2 things:

1) There was no more boost for any model year, they all came with 8# stock.
2) There is no top speed "governor". It is "goverened" by aerodynamics.

Full Effect supercab Lightnings are legit. You could either buy one outright from them, or bring yours in for the conversion. But the supercab coversion should have nothing to do with their build number. Their build number is the same no matter what. They can get it by giving their VIN to SVT, just like with every other Lightning.

the info came straight from www.svt.ford.com

PS. I see what you mean now... I meant "Boost" in non-literal form... rather as "Power" I know its probably cofusing...
