Guys and gals,
After reading all the reactions to the 2005 Mustang, and I strongly say, this is my opinion, what I'm noticing is:
That the people who do not like it, are probably a younger generation that did not dig the muscle car era. Big and bold, with nothing but motor and a couple of seats with plenty of horsepower under the hood.
The people who do like it, are probably a little older than me (almost 30), but grew up in the muscle car era and probably had one of their own at one point or another.
The way I look at is, Ford is setting the standard for performance vehicles. I think in the mid 80's thru the late 90's, Ford lost a lot of dedicated individuals who grew up on very high horsepower and big muscle cars. If you recall that's when Ford started coming out with smaller cars, 4 cylinder motors in every freakin vehicle, including full size pickups, and horrible, just horrible design, I mean come on, when was the last time you said, "Hey, that is a bas a$$ Ford Escort!". I'm thinking none of us has ever said that.
My point I'm trying to make is that Ford is bringing back a true American Classic. They went back to the old style or should I say "old school" way of engulfing the public notoriety, and saying, "Yeah, so what, I'll kick your A$$ is this". That is the attitude I think that American Car Manufacturers need to be in if they want to stay alive in the automobile industry.
So what if you get 80 miles to the gallon, I bet I'll get there quicker than you in this. Sorry to say Nissan 350Z, Infinity G30, or whatever else that's non american, I think you've just got your A$$ kicked with this one!!!
Oh and yeah, I'll be thinking of ways to get this beauty. Got a couple of years before we see them, so I got some time. Hee Hee!!!
