Put the L in the barn for a while

Well after having the fog lights repaced (they used the 03 style to replace them) seat is fixed, window actuator arm fixed etc.. The L is "off the road" for a while. I put a nice coat of wax on it and it is snug as a bug in a rug in a nice, dry place.

Can anyone offer any storage advice? Like how often i should start it, should i take the battery out, put it on jackstands, etc.
I will probably drive this truck a total of 1000 miles or less this year. My goal is not to turn it into a museum piece, but to keep it alive untill i can really enjoy it. I hope to keep the truck as a low mileage collectors car for a lot of years.

I put 20,000 miles on it the first year i had it, but now its time to maybye just drive it every once in a while.Maybye save it for when im retired etc..

I plan on buying an 03 mustang gt this december. I will probably put it up too(after breaking it in). So i am lookin for advice on preserving the plastic, hoses etc. I have heard silicone is bad, but thats what i heard and not what i know to be fact.

Any help would be great.

Did you change the oil? Get the tires off the ground.

Buy some gasoline stabilizer from your local Wallymart or auto place. It will keep the gas from breaking down and doing the nasty to your fuel system.

Are you really putting it in a barn? If so, I would definitely buy a tarp to park it on...so that moisture from the ground is not rusting the underneath while it sits in storage and also get the tires off the ground or you will think your riding in Fred Flinstones "buggy" when you take her back out for a spin and feel the flat spots on the tires! LOL I would also spray some armour all on the engine hoses so they are conditioned and wont crack and dry out.

Mark.
