Question 2" spring drop question

I was thinking about doing a 2/4 drop and was wondering if doing a 2" spring drop on the front end will be okay. Will the wheels be slanted after I get a front end alignment? And also will the ride be any good or will it be real stiff. Last question is should I go ahead and get shocks for a lowered vehicle?
Thanks for the info

Others will know better, but I did the 1" drop up front. It is low enough that the front end can very easily get scraped when parking or entering parking lots etc. To me any lower would see the front end damaged pretty soon.

Cool 2" spring drop question

topwater;

Thats what I did on my " L " three years or so ago! But only
used Belltech front leaf spring perches and stock rear shackles!
Their shackle made rear to low with only 2" front springs. Now
the " L " is level with stock tires and doesn't bottom out unless
a big bump is found! Use their small bump stops too! I also use
Belltech Nitro Active Shocks and have not had any trouble!

(1) An advertised 2" drop will usually give only about a 1" drop on a Lightning.

(2) The wheels will be perfectly upright after alignment.

(3) The ride quality is entirely dependant upon the particular springs you buy (and their interaction with the shocks). You would need to know the spring rate versus stock to be able to make that judgment. Anything approaching a 1,000 lb rate will be rough riding (but should handle great).

(4) Unless you go with a real mild spring (like the FPR/Ground Force 1/2 kit), you will need new shocks--shorter, stiffer springs will overpower the stock shocks, giving you a crappy ride, which will get progressively worse as the shocks are driven to early failure.

(5) Use the search feature. There are hundreds of posts on the issue.

Good luck with your purchase.
