After several days of serious brain work, I have decided against installing the Nitrous Express system I recently aquired from Beefcake on my truck.
I want to try to get into the 11's without it.
Can it be done?

Sure, it can.
I Did it!!!!

With all the mods out there to make these Ls more efficient Nitrous is not required to hit 11s (it helps, just not required).

in my motor.

Why not install it? In the long run it will cost way less to get into the 11's with the NX kit than it will be to add enough engine mods to get into the 11's!

 

Looking @ Vinnies mph to your you should be able to get it now looks like a 60' problem to me but it is just my opinion
I am still a 13 sec stocker....lol not for long

Marc - are you going to build the bottom end up at all?

 

Hey marc, I am running about the same as you are, and i do not have that many mods. I did just install the upper pulley, and I have a different burn on my chip, so we'll see what happens. We are running about the same mph also, it won't take much more to hit the 11 sec mark. I plan on installing the log tubes, taking more weight out, and running mickey thompson e/t streets. Hopefully that will do it. I plan on going to Atco on sat 1/11 as long as the weather holds out, and it is above 32 outside...11's???? We'll see...

mrinaldi, you must be really strong on the top end to be getting there with a 1.94 60 foot time.

Marc: I think by your mph that you have the power to get to the 11's, you just need a good 60'!!! Break into the 11's... then put the N20 on

 

Yeah, the truck pulls very hard upstairs....I am also going to install the traction bars to hopefully get the 60' times into the low 1.7's or even maybe high 1.6's...The sad thing is, is that by the time myself and a couple of other people I know reach the 11 sec mark, That will be the norm not very uncommon, kinda like the 12's are now...LOL...Guess we'll just have to go into the 10's, too bad at that point it gets VERY expensive...Well happy new year, and I hope you hit the 11's soon also...

 

CHIKIN1 you are right on the 60 foot times. My best to date is 1.79.
