No offense but why would you argue with a cop and tell him that something isnt illegal when he just told you it was There is no point arguing with a cop its his word against yours and who do you think a judge will believe if you fight it. The reason i bet he added the seatbelt and was asking about your rims was because you tryed telling him he was wrong. ***** when i get pulled over even when i know i did something wrong im nice to the cop. They got you by the *****. So why make it worse by arguing with him. Maybe its just me but thats how i see it.

Naw I didnt argue with him I learned that battle before....

When he told me why he pulled me I just stated why I though they were legal. Then I stated I would remove them on the spot. I was not a **** at all until after I got the tickets and he was gone....

I used to live in Fairfax County. And will have to agree that VA Troopers are ****s.

They are just pissed that they change the color of the patrol cars from Confederate grey to silver and got rid of the rebel flag.

I hope no one comes on and says don't judge all copps by the one bad one you came in contact with. Most of em are just like the one Richard dealt with. They have worked very hard to earn the Chitty rep. they have, so they might as well go with it. If I had a crappy job with crappy hours like theirs I"d be Pissed Off at world too. Why blame yourself when you can take it out on someone else. To those 1 in every 10,000 officers out there who really try to do right, I Appoligize.

I got one a couple months ago for a "small" windshield decal. The county cops in my area look the other way for such trivial BS, but those state men are real ******. They are the 25k/yr men with all the authority.
The decal on my windshield was approx. 18"lg. by 2"letters. I told the cop as he was having me sign the ticket that I would have to be looking for airplanes before that decal would obstruct my vision. I didn't fine any humor in that either.

Dude!!!

If you don't like the Commonwealth, LEAVE !

Over the weekend I took my truck out where I hardly ever do. I went to downtown Richmond to pick up a drunk friend from the local clubs. Well needless to say this ***** state trooper decided he wanted to pick on me. Lots of rice cars making noise and showing off, I just rolled in looking for my friend!

[SS] just how loud is your exhaust?

He pulled me for my PSP, NRMA, & Nitto stickers on my glass. I told him they were not in view of any mirrors and should be legal, he said no it is illegal to have anything other than a Inspection & county sticker on the glass.

[SS] Why give them the excuse ? Why have them in the 1st place? <tip> all those go fast vendor tickets have hidden, holographic instructions for cops that say: "absolutely no warnings" </tip> They give the cop a preconceived idea about what type of person you are before he even talks to you. Virginia code - traffic laws too - are available online. Look them up

He searches my truck, gives me a ticket for a seatbelt & illegal stickers, and warns me that my exhaust is to loud for use after 11pm.

[SS] Now I know there's more to this story than has been released so far. On what basis did the cop search your truck ? USSC has routinely held that minor traffic infractions are not sufficient grounds to warrant a non consentual search... cops know this, so either you let him search, of it was unconstitutional... and possibly criminal.

NEVER, EVER, EVER let the cops search your vehicle for any reason. If the service tech that last worked on your truck smoked weed & they find evidence of it, guess who's going to be doing some time in the lockup? If the cops have a good and reasonable belief that a crime has been committed, they do not require consent. If they're asking, they don't have reasonable suspicion, and may not search without permission. DON'T give it.

I'm not saying this wasn't a Bull$*** stop, but there's more to the story than has been told so far.

When he brings me my tickets he has the ***** to ask me what size my rims are.... I felt like letting him have a few choice words but I didnt, I just started Betsy up at half throttle and drove off....

Richmond City will now have another $125 of my money for a state ***** with nothing better to do.....

[SS] Ok, I'll agree, that's pretty assinine. Still, your objective in a traffic stop is to 'blend into a crowd of one'. You want him to remember absolutely nothing about you for court... Your half throttle take off probably made him take notes...

Yeah, VA traffic law is pretty ridiculous, but there are worse... Ever check out the TN drag racing statute?

I’m pretty sure my truck has a sticker on the driver’s side window from the factory…. I forget now what it says. I seen a cop yell at a guy that was on a motorcycle one time to flip his face shield down. He had it flipped up at a stop sign; guess the cop thought he was violating the eye protection law… I would look for mistakes on the ticket, that got my wife off a couple times.

Some cops think they ARE the law, instead of just someone who ENFORCES the law. I would safely estimate that 75% of cops are ****** who just love to bully people around and show thier authority.

Yeah, Richard, I'm glad they caught up with you...you are a menace to society...LOL....J/K Hey, you should have asked if he was one of the "braniacs" they had on the Va. Sniper case? LOL.

P.S. Glad they didnt pull me over when I came down last year when I "forgot" to take my 9mm out of the truck.

Mark.

The only time I got wrote up in Virginia was for no liscense. I had forgotten my wallet at the house. This was at a road block on highway 58 near VA State Park. The officer told me to go set in his patrol car and he would be with me in a minute. That was imbarrassing. He asked me if I was going to go to college. And if I had a girlfriend. Then he wrote me a ticket and scheduled a court date. After he gave me the ticket, he said if I brought my liscense to court and showed them to the judge he would let me off. I figured that was reasonable of him. They also got my sister for having to dark of a tint on her windows. But he said if she takes the tint off before she goes to court, that they would drop it. I'm just waiting for them to ticket me for my Flowmaster 40 exhaust. But I've been through alot of roadblocks lately and they have'nt said anything. Oh well. That goes to show you that all cops are'nt ******.

Never met a state trooper or city cop that dint have small ***** syndrom or enlarged ego complex!! It's worse today then when I started driving in 1983. Many of the older cops then were cool.

Cops of today think they are judge & jurry. It's the ones that write you up for everything they can that are the biggest hypocrite's of them all. They break the law's they are sworn to uphold when on & off duty. Detroit police are an excellent example.

They are just revenue collectors with guns now. My old man used to be a sheriff back in the early-mid 70's. The day I got my Drivers licens he told me, "there are going to be days I will run into good cops, and days I will run into a bad cops!" He was right!! More bad then good now!!

Good cops overlook the trivial ****. It's the egomaniacs that give the few good cops left a bad name!!
