what's the general rule with weight 100lbs =who many tenths in the Quarter mile ?

What's everyone weighing in at Race vs Street mode ?

I just wanna know how much i can shave off

Some people even take out the passenger seat, and the front sway bar.

I have been doing some research on Carbon fiber. I am thinking of replacing some steel parts with Carbon Fiber or even a carbon fiber/Graphite material. It would be awesome to replace the bumper support behind the bumper with a carbon fiber peice. Maybee if there is enough interest we can get someone to make them for us.

Remember that most of those things that are normaly removed are all in the rear. We realy nead to move things from the front to the rear. Things like the radiator and the battery. Lighter front tires and removing the steel under the front bumper.

Rule of thumb is 100lbs=.1 secs quicker in 1/4. This does vary and is not set in stone. I have had it be very close to that at times on my race cars. I am not sure it would hold true for a L though.

How hard is the tow-hitch to remove? Is the wiring a pain? Im selling my jet-ski, so the only thing I will be hauling is azz, and I think taking it off would give the truck a much cleaner look...

The hitch is easy...Just heavy!! There are four plates/8 bolts that hold the hitch onto the frame. The harness simply unplugs from the connector for the trailer lights. Unplug that first then remove the mounting bolts for the hitch. Use an 18mm socket to do the job...If you can, have a buddy hold it up while you are getting the bolts out, and it will be much easier...Have fun....

What parts can be taken off in the front
Or replaced with light weight alternatives ?
what's the hood weigh ? aftermarket ones are lighter if they are made of fibreglass
The front bumper could be place where we could shave off more
Somebody is going to have to start making lighter parts for up front

the stock hood is aluminum and weighs a little bit over 20 lbs. fiberglass hoods weigh twice as much. even the carbon fiber hoods don't weigh less than the stock ones, so no weigh savings there

Cool

HI!... Actually most aftermarket hoods are heavier that the stock hood. The stock hood is made completely out of aluminum.

Don't forget the weight that you can lose, too. Following the rule of thumb, if I lose 50 pounds and become that lean, mean, sex machine of yesterday, I should be able to shed 0.05 of the ET, huh?

But seriously, you can put the skinnies for tires up front and take out aftermarket stereo equipment for the strip.

It boils down to several things:

1) How serious you are about reducing weight
2) What you want to retain for drivability
3) Bang for the buck

My boss recently yanked the A/C out of his '94 Cobra . I've read of people removing their bumpers. For a land speed record with a bicycle some years ago, I read that they filled the tires with helium instead of air!
