You guys should ask Johnny Lightning, in the new MM&FF Lightning article his truck is listed at 4325 lbs W/driver.

I think that is around 300 to 450 lbs lighter than the other two tuners.

I'm not sure if it was a misprint or what but that is a buncha weight missin.

I think Sal and Jim's trucks probably weigh about the same, esept Sal is a BIG boy and that accounts for the weight difference there.

Electric fan and Cobra water pump will save a few lbs. off the front. It seems to me that the biggest bang for the fewest dollars would be relocating the battery to the back of the truck. I still would like to put an Optima battery under the bed somewhere.

A fellow MI L owner tips the scales just over 4200# w/ driver. He should be under 4000# (without driver) for next years racing season
His goal is to be lighter than an 03 Cobra. I think they are like 3900# or something.

Now What's that guy done to get his truck that light ???
that's awsome
4200Lbs with driver make it alot easier to get into the low 11's high 10's with an aftermarket Blower and a built bottom end

How much do the Top 10 L's weigh?

You could also replace the seats with lighter ones.

Get a roll pan and move the battery to the rear.

Get a new frame made (shudders at the thought of the price)

Mine weighed 5200lbs with me the last 1/8 run I made this year. Maybe that is one of the reasons I only got a 7.919 @ 91.26. Damn, I need to lose some weight.

OOooo...... Carbon fiber frame.......

Heck, even if you drop 100lbs off of the truck, it still has the aerodynamic properties of a brick.

I ditch my bed cover, tailgate, front sway bar, heavy 20" wheels with light weight racing wheels, passenger seat gets removed sometimes and the stereo box does also.

I figured it out before to be something like 450 to 500 pounds of weight from street form to all out racing form.
