Unhappy Electro Luminescent Instrument Cluster

The grandkid left the lights on, the battery saver didn't work and my 1999 Red Lightning would only click when I tried the starter. With a quick start from a charger all was OK until I noticed that night the instrument cluster backlights were out. Everything else works, but the panel is black after the normal start-up icons light and go out.

Checked the fuses and all seem OK. Did not check the fuses or anything else. Help is much appreciated as I an flying blind at night for now. Thanks

I wonder if jumping it took out the lights? Jumping these newer cars can make things surge and burn up....

I have also heard jump starts taking out dashes, esp. digital dashes.

I think in this case he used a charger to start it, which would not have too much power, unless the charger was a Dodge

Yikes, the car audio shop killed my battey the other day and they jumped it, then when i picked it up it was dead again, so another jump. Everything seems to be working fine though. BTW.....the jumper was a chevy. LOL

You might get lucky if it is the rehostat in the headlamp switch, otherwise it will probably need a cluster. If it does, make sure you take 2 keys to the dealer when they replace it, cause the pats system goes thru the cluster

Unhappy

Sorry to here about your guage cluster, but I have seen it happen first-hand. My cluster went 'dark' when the truck was only ONE WEEK OLD! Like what was posted, when they replace the cluster, they will have to code two new keys for the anti-theft system. I hope the dealer fixes it fast for you...mine only took two days, and the new cluster will even have the proper milage programed into it from the factory. Good luck.
