I took it in today, and they said they could not do anything about the seal and ordered a new part. Must be the new seal. Thanks for the encouragement. It's a bit of a hassle, but in the long run I'll be glad I did it.

Anybody got the part# for the new seal? I want to install it myself and avoid the dealership service visit.

Mine sticks out above driver's head. Doesn't leak (yet). Kinda like the front grill meeting the hood. Not exactly "fitted right" but I'm just going to deal with it.

Usually when I start taking stuff in for work, she's all down hill w/ that vehicle from then on.

Mine was replaced under warranty. It was screwed up from brand new. They put a whole new rear window in.

Thanks to this thread I knew what I was talking about, knew what i was looking or and knew what to ask for. I now have a new rear sliding window with the new seal. It's straight with no buldges and looks good.

Thanks for the assistance.

One of these days you're going to have to trust a Ford dealer. I realize some shops have had some major f'ups, but the majority of the time they do a pretty decent job. It's your choice to live with a poorly designed seal for your rear window, but for very little effort on yours and their part, you could get the newly designed seal and have a much better looking truck. It's time to face the real world and realize not everybody(or Ford, or the dealership) is out to screw you. I'm sure there are some very good dealerships in your area if you put forth the effort to find out. Get to know the service manager and some of the mechanics, and then make a request for the ones you trust to work on your vehicle. My dad worked for a Ford dealership for over 25 years, and was a class act and took pride in his work. I was fortunate to have my dad available to work on my vehicles, but their service department had a very good reputation.

Took my 02 in for same prob. Tech smeared yellow weatherstrip adhesive all over and called it fixed-looked worse than before So I took it back, yelled alot, and they finally decided to order me a new seal. Turns out the old seal is scrapped and they only replace w/new seal(03). The best part- they had the new seal in stock all along-A-holes Ford=good trucks;crappy service now I hope they can get the yellow goo off everything-idiots
