Need opinions on wheels... pics inside.

Allright ladies and gents, I need some help.

I'm thinking of ordering some wheels for my '03 and I can't decide between these two.

BTW, The wheels will remain 18" size for numerous reasons.
1. I won't have to buy another set of tires $$$
2. I won't loose any power from added weight of 20s or 22s
3. I won't loose traction from different tire brand or compound (IMHO, the stock Goodyear F1s do an UNBELIEVABLE job in the dry traction department, I'd hate to loose that)
4. I won't loose traction due to reduced sidewall of 20s or 22s
5. 18" wheels are less expensive than 20s or 22s which means more money for SPEED mods!

Anyway, Tell me what you think?

my personal favorite, but has opposite "dish" of the timeless above that looks so nice:

any opinions welcome.

also any opinions that would contradict my reasons for not going with 20's+ are welcome.

thanks.

chris

The fact that you are going with Boyd’s is good by itself. A two-piece billet wheel is lighter than a cast wheel, even in a 22’ size.

My vote is for the timeless

I vote Timeless too. Plus, you can put some of the new F'1 shoes on your baby when they're available! Hopefully soon, I need some too.

I will do my best to sway you into 20s. Here goes,
1- I have by far the HEAVIEST 20s in the world and (Replicas) and my truck has a 1.59 60 ft. w/ the front on and 7 eleven second runs w/ the fronts on.
I was going to make a run w/ the 20s on the back ,but it started to rain that day and have not been back to the track since.

2-The new Goodyear F1 looks alot like the Dunlop tread design.

3- Since you have the 03 style wheels I am sure you will get top dollar for your set-up.(people always like to upgrade to the newer style stuff)

4- A LOT easier to clean.(Bigger wheel=more space for hands to clean)

5- The 20s just look better.

6- You can say to your homies 'Yo, How do ya like my DUBS?"

7 Did I mention they just look better.

8- I have seen a couple different style wheels in 18 and 20 and there is a definate difference in appearance.

Well , I gave it my best shot.

Since you brought that up, does anyone know when they are coming out? I'm getting very close to needing some. Thanks

I am getting a set of 20s for the street and keeping the stockers for race tires. The 20s just look better.

Weight is not really an issue if you stick with lightweight wheels. The difference between forged billet 20s and forged billet 18s is a few pounds. And a 295/45-18 weighs about the same as a 295/40-20--maybe even less. It is true that the 20's take more force to rotate even if they weigh the same as an 18, but the difference is too small to consider.

And I agree that the F1s are fantastic tires--especially when new. I think many badmouth them just because they are OEM. I would not hesitate to get another set.
