Not Another SR-10 Thread
Trust me guy's we are working on a come back for this Viper truck. I hear the rumor is 500 hrs. also? Only time will tell, I hear other goodies also?
I would like to say I love my Lightning I can pull a boat, unhook it line up to the tree run the quater mile, and after that just go cruzing around town all in the same day. That's versatility!!!

$30,000? no way, just adding up a few things (viper engine + viper transmission + 24 inch rims! + 24 inch tires! + hard bed cover) and, if i'm not mistaken, that should get you over $20,000. now if dodge is going to put out this ultra-high-performance ultra-low-priced srt10, then hell, i'll get one. i just find it hard to believe at 30k considering retail price is, according to yahoo, $18,330 - $26,975 for the regular cab 4x2. i see a snowballs chance in hell it goes for under 50k. i'd expect about 70ish thousand.
as the site says dodge is...
, so there is no way it will be for sale for 30k, let alone twice the price. it also says they will be low-volume. so here is my take- yes, it will be faster then (most/some) lightnings, but we won't see enough of them to worry about. think about this- the price has to be high, somewhat around the price of a viper. so why not just get the viper? it will be a select few, most of which probabley will have both .and how many vipers do you see? exactly
as the site says dodge is...

I don't care what it does, or what it costs, it's still an UGLY fuggin toaster grill.
I have yet to meet up with and run a Viper (car version), so like it was mentioned before, they will undoubtably be a rare siting if we ever see one at all.
Those 24" wheels are an eye sore too (IMHO)

the wheels are ugly, the single cab is ugly, the interior looks like plastic crap, the white face gauges looks like you got them from a junk yard. the only good thing in that truck is the engine that says "Viper"........ it may be fast but when people on the street see this dodge, and our lighting crusing down the street, what will they look at first/more of, the LIGHTNING. my 2 cents
Sorry, guys, but I sometimes think that some of you COMPLETELY miss months of updates on these vehicles
Edmunds.com has some newer news on the truck.
24" rims were downgraded to 22" for the production truck.
Possible name change to RAM 500, as spied on a test truck.
Price tag was already officially announced from Dodge, at $58,000.
Now, if I think back a year or 2, they used to run ads all over Motortrend, etc, for the Mopar part number and price for the Viper V-10 long block. Don't remember the part number, but the price was $15,000. Add a T-56, 22" rims, custom leather interior, bada$$ hard tonneau cover, and new suspension, and the truck is still a pretty good deal.
OH - And, DODGE states the ¼-mile time on the truck to be 12.8.
Not a deal for MOST of us, mind you - just a deal.
Will I buy one? No. I like my Lightning, especially since it's a buttload faster than a stock SRT-10. Would I recommend one to someone with alot of money to spend? He!! yeah.

These trucks are joke. They are ugly. They look lifted not lowered. 24" rims don't belong on a performance vehicle. Price will most likely be outragious. They will get no traction(oh great they now have an excuse for getting their azz handed to them on a silver platter). When I see one pulled up to me at a stoplight I will believe it. Then I will beat it. How long have we been hearing this garbage with nothing showing up at dealers>??? Oh yeah it is a mopar so it will be at the dealer for repairs more then you drive it. Move Over People Are Racing. -Mat-
