Question hotchkis vs. belltech/ front

how much stiffer is the hotchkis spring than the bell tech and does it handle better? also, they claim it lowers 1 inch but was wondering if this is accurate.

Make some phone calls, do a search. I've posted the rates on here before.

Has anyone ever used Belltech's rear drop springs? They are supposed to offer a 4" drop on a stock F150. It seems like it would be easier to install those than to chisel off the hangers.

i have searched and made phone calls but bell tech saya their springs have a 1000 pd spring rate and hotchkis says theirs has a 960. if this is so the bell techs would be stiffer? my bell techs are not stiff at all.

My phone calls to Bell Tech confirm the samething.

Spring 4804 = 3" on drop F150, 2" on L
1000 lb spring rate

I don't know for certain but a straight spring rate is a straight spring rate. But I would think there could be differences in quality, processes, and materials used to make a spring. But Hotchkis and Bell Tech. are names that have been around a little bit.
Mine are pretty stiff. I 100% certain I noticed a difference going from my crappy Eibachs to these. When I stop, much less nose dive. I don't SCCA race my truck though so I couldn't make comments toward that.

I've got Hotchkis sways also and my truck doesn't lean in a corner. I've had other L owners ride in it and remark.

What shocks are you using?

I'm sure Spike, and Ruslow could give a more technical answer.

the bell techs on my truck definetly feel allot stiffer from when it was stock. Mine lowered my truck 2 inchs with the 3/4 kit. The stiffer spring did make the truck handle better but then again lowering the center of gravity will definetly make any vehicle handle better.

I doubt your going to notice the difference in spring rates from the two also.

I think the nitro actives are good, but there's better out there. the Qa1'a are pretty much the best out there that we use on our trucks.

Just make sure your shocks are setup for your drop and they will be ok, the qaulity of the ride and handling varys from shock to shock though.

I run doestch shocks now and I'm really happy with them, not to stiff and not to soft.
