There are two tabs under the hood, pull up on them and the headlight will slide foreword. it's in the owner manual. hope this helps. Mike

There are two black strap retainers that hold the lense assy in. If you look at the header panel behind the light, you'll see them. They bend to a 90 degree tab at the top. You need to pull the tab up so that the large holes in the strap allow the adjusters to go past them. Then the entire lense comes out the front and you can get to the bulbs.

Check out a post I made called Sylvania SilverStar Walkthrough. That will give you detailed steps to replacing headlight and fog light bulbs.

Once you get the headlights out following LightningTuner's instructions...remove the lightbulb by first disconnecting the plug to the light. Then simply unscrew the bulb out of the casing. Take your new bulbs and screw those puppies in. (CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULBS WITH YOUR FINGERS UNLESS YOU FEEL LIKE REPLACING THEM IN ANOTHER WEEK)

Hope this helps...if you have any other questions...you know where to find us!

Take off turn signals if possible, you will need a t-22 torx screw driver for the turn signals. Slide the headlight assembly out as straight as possible tryin to not move the tabs. Remember not to force the tabs back in, "line" them up with the tracks and holes.

Unhappy how to replace.....

thanks for all the help and replies. i found the tabs, but i can not get one of them to move at all. the other 3 slide up and down very easy. is it time for the adjuster? (big hammer). i'll spray some wd-40 on it and try again tomorrow. once again thanks. this is my first ford product, and i'm learning more every day off this board. later, jim.

Jim, they have lock tabs holding them down. You need to slightly pull the tab back (towards the cab) and pull up at the same time.
