You know who you are...those of you who make great products...that put your love and devotion into making trucks go fast and people smile...Thank You.
I hope a few jerks don't discourage you from making great leaps and bounds in the progress of these trucks. Its not easy being on top. We are greatfull for the work you do for us!

I don't think any jerk could stand in the way of money!
Thanks for the post, much appreciated.
Unfortunately for me, it DOES get to you. If I were just out to make money, I'd care less about the people starting crap, about other vendors talking trash, about people ripping your hard work with no actual proof to back it up, and all the other junk. But when you have a real passion for the work, when you actually enjoy making stuff to help others feel the same joy that you have, it has a great impact. It's personal at that point, and it hurts.
I've learned a lot over these past few years, about myself, as well as about others. I am very thankfull for those who support me and the rest of this community with positive feedback. I try not to let the negative people get to me, but it's not easy.

Interesting Post. Many people never realize the hard work (time, effort, money etc.) that has been put forward by the tuners and the developers of innovative parts and components. Even fewer understand or are aware of what happens behind the scenes. How design are ripped-off, contracts are broken and the outright theft. In the very short term I will be detailing much of this at my new web site. There will be photos; contract documents and e- mails that will make you wonder what part of their brain some people are using when they commit their thoughts, ideas and words to written text. It should be interesting and informative.

Of course, even when some are presented with the facts, they
choose rather to believe the hype ... <shrug>
Without the people that put the time and effort into these
vehicles, we wouldn't have any of the great performance mods
we have now. As the original concept is sometimes the hardest
part, my hats off to you and the T/B work that you did early on.

You may very well be right about the truth and even right and wrong. I had a conversation with a friend and he said that if someone offered a truck load of stolen wheels and tires they would be gone in a matter of minutes. He said they are just looking for the good deal and that is all that matters. I would like to think that he is wrong even just a little bit.
P.S. The throttle body was only one of many things that I was involved in. There are many other things that I hold design rights on. Also the projects of others that I have worked on that very few know about.

The old litmus test for the level of honesty used to be
leaving a $50.00 on the floor in the room with a prospective
hire. If he didn't pick it up and turn it in, he wasn't even
considered for the position.
After what I have seen lately, I would be very afraid to base
anything on what some "men" tell you as their "word" ... Let
alone leave $50.00 bills laying around. Some folks just were
never taught that a man's word is the only thing he has ...
when it is violated, there isn't anything left.
Merry Christmas ... and Happy New Year ...
Good Post Whip,
BA, Speaking of Pioneers, Where is High Risk? (Bob)
I believe after BAs and Bobs Truck I got the first BA Throttle Body
I believe after BAs and Bobs Truck I got 15" Slicks designed by BA(when it couldn't be done) wore out the Goodyears and now on Hoosiers
I think I have the First (possibly 2nd) set of Long Tubes made for a Gen 2
by BA Bolt for High Risk and they are still on my Truck.
And....BA wouldn't take any money for the R&D and endless hours spent helping me. The Ghost of what Christmas should be!
There are some new really neat Mods out there, however they don't get posted,
but that would be a different post.
There are now a lot of 11 sec Lightnings and Thanks to those that made it happen.
Jim

Thanks Jim,
I think that Bob ( High Risk) has found other ways to stay busy for a while but I know that he will be back. I think that what must be remembered is that I was lucky to work with two other Lightning owners; Bob (High Risk) and Wayne (PFA). I think that between us there was a lot of new ideas being applied to the Lightning very early on. It was only a few years ago but at the time it was fun.
Jim,
Maybe a little correction may be needed. The headers from Bob's Lightning were some of the very first from Greg Holman. My long tubes came after that and were done by a friend here and they were very unique in that they were individual tubes with a merge collector. They were computer modeled by Burns in Calif. All of that was in late 1999 and early 2000 and others were saying that you would never make any power with long tube headers. It is great to see how the times do change.

Yep...I remember when guys were scared to death of long tubes.
You know the earth is flat and long tubes wont make any power except at high rpm. All I could do was shake my head after reading that stuff.
Long tubes were one of the first mods my truck had and I got them from Greg Holman too.
