The interior and exterior is ugly. That’s my personal opinion and THE of the main reason I did what I could to buy a new Lightning now with the current body style.

The current body style (97 - 03) has class and character. I have seen the new 04 regular F150’s in person now and they look like crap, plain and straight like no thought at all was put into the exterior design.

Not to mention I have seen the new 04 regular F150’s interior and talk about cheap looking, my GOD who would pay that kind of money for what looks to be completely cheap *** foreign material..

I seen a Lariat and that was not “so” bad with the leather, but no where worth the money and price tag of approx. 36k I mean MY GOD what was Ford thinking with this new design of the current 04 F150’s, did they only give the guys in the clay room like 15 minutes to come up with this straight and box look of the 80’s?

And what is with these 22 inch rims on the Gen III L’s hell might as well put some spinners on it, a wing on the back and a ”Type R” decal on the side of the bed.

FORD, if you’re listening to current Lightning owners, and I am now one…

Give the boys in the clay room like a couple a weeks to come up with something that has style, class and character for the new Gen III Lighting, sure you stuck with that 80’s throw back now that looks like crap, but for the Lightning that just can’t be, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???

You saw what run in the 10s stock? With a professional Viper driver, the SRT-10 runs in the high 12s, and not easily, either.

Trust me you did NOT see any STOCK SRT-10 running 11’s or 10’s in the 1/4 mile. Perhaps your track has not properly marked out or measured the 1/4 mile and what your actually seeing is 1/8 mile results of which I can believe an un-professional driving the SRT-10 "may" run 10’s…

hold on a second, let me go get my boots on and re-read that posyt becuase it is getting real deep in here.

the FASTEST srt-10 to DATE (june 21, 2004) is owned by "seconds" and it ran a mid-low 12 second 1/4 mile.

Facts are facts, can't dispute them, but you can try to manipulate them.

10 seconds in that beast of a trusk will be has with a lot of boost or nitrous or both.

The Concept Vehicle interior reminds me of the Boss5.4

i think Ford will Bash on the SRT-10 easy.

You got to think about the to trucks in camparision.

Dodge - v10 with a god forbidin 8.3L damn that is big wonder what it weighs

VS>

Ford - v8 supercharged 5.4

now just that there tel you what will have a weight advantage, and what will have better MPG.

with that weight advantage they can add in alot of spiffy stuff we like to have. IRS 22 wheels if you wanted i doubt you will want or get that in production. ect.

the dodge is going to be blown out of the water. Lightning with IRS compared to dodge with its rear sway bar lol.

In my opinon i think the Lightning will most likely come with a Auto trans just for the fact if you did not know that the t56 in the dodge , cobra, vet, ect. can not handle tow like they say. take my word. you would need a Heavy duty tranny kinda like the one that is a option with the powerstroke with the 6 speed HD manual.

you have to get this new quadcab srt-10 with the auto to tow. and i wouldnt buy a dogde srt-10 or a lightning for alot of towing but hell how many times have i seen a Lightning with a load in the back(alot of times).

I like the supercharge alot since aftermarket is so simple. you get a motor that is built for psi. where the pullies at?

Did anyone see in this month's Motor Trend that Ford has all but scrapped the lightning pickup based on this concept? It said that if may come out in '07 but not likely. Just FYI

damn and i was all set to sell my 04 f150 for a new L in 07. Thats not gonna happen if the price hits 50k, they are really gonna lose alot of sales if they place the price that high. Gonna see alot of people looking for used L's at that point.
