hehehe Skagel. I know... I know....

Honestly, the 4X2 option was taken by me. I considered when I had used my four-wheel drive in my explorer and decided that I really didn't need it. Heck, I only had my explorer in 4wd three times in the two years that I had it. Twice was basically to just 'move' everything around in there to keep it lubricated and once was because I was bored and just wanted to shift into 4wd. Thus, long story short, I never needed it. *shrugs* I'm a city boy.

Marc -- As far as age is concerned, I believe that a good number of folks on this board are younger. I'm in my mid-20's, Skagel is in her twenties, dufunnel is in his twenties, acbell is in his twenties.... and the list goes on. It's not an old man's truck, it was a sales line because he realized that you had some interest in this 'other' truck and he moved you towards it rather than sticking to the KR side. That's fine though. It's your truck and I'm glad you got what you wanted. Best of luck and don't be a stranger... you're always welcome to peek your head in and say hey!

hmmm well, I actually use my 4X4....not in the snow or rain of course, but offroading and such......I am used to seeing over most people because I am tall and just wanted...no had to have something that fit me....hence the 4x4....soon to be a lifted 4x4.....my son gets into the truck to easily now so I need to make it more of a challenge for him....really I am just doing it for him.....ya gotta keep challenging your kids ya know or they will get board.

Scott,

I've got you covered man. Somehow I got all your info already, either I requested it earlier and you gave it to me or I got it all off your profile and gallery.

Thanks,

~DM~

Guys (and gals -- Hello Skagle),

The salesman who gave me the line "KR is an old man's truck" was actually the one trying to sell the KR. I brought the FX4 over from another dealership to compare. The "old man" comment actually had no bearing on my decision. I have been happy with my purchase!

In fact, my FX4 has every possible option except the TV / DVD player, which I need even less than I needed a 4X4. As for MY age, I'm 33. I've never owned a full size pick up much less a 4X4. My first truck: '85 Ranger, then Nissan extended cab, then '91 Explorer 4X2, then '98 Lexus ES 300 (A GREAT car I might add), then my 2001 Sport Trac, which I really enjoyed. But this SC is HUGE. "A MAN'S TRUCK!!

I'm sure the age of the KR owners on this site would be 20's to 40's as you don't find too many grandpa's "surfing the web." And besided, who cares how some loser salesman classifies the truck. If you didn't like the class and styling the truck offered, you wouldn't have bought it. SO THERE!

19 (In my dreams)

Plus if you were playing snooker the added score of 5 reds, 5 blacks, then deduct a yellow.

I'm only 16, and probably the youngest of the bunch. I've never thought of the King Ranch as an "old man's truck!!" Now, a town-car or continental, is an old-man's car, not that i would not want one of those, but they are usually bought by "old men." Anyways, i was at school today, and we got our spots today, so everyone i knew finally saw my truck, and 5 people must have said: "Oh sh**, you've got one of those 'King Ranch's'! Lemme see the inside. Damn, that is nice~!!!" Ahhh, I love my truck! Now, it's not a beamer, a lexus, a benz, or an audi (there must be 20 beamers, 30 lexus', 10 benz's, and 15 audi's at my school [driven by 16 yr olds brand new]) but, i think it definately compares and in some cases supercedes the so called 'luxury' cars/trucks; everyone that owns a KR, would agree with me 100%! The only reason why I own a new KR, is because some drunk a**hole ran a stop sign and totaled my '97 xlt sc longbed. It's a shame that my old truck 'died', but I am happier than a pig in sh** that i get to have a KR, and drive it around all the time, especially when you are at a light and the people next to you tell you to roll down your window so they can compliment you...it's the greatest!! Well, I think that's it

wait just a darn minute here......you are 16 and you have a KR.....what is up with that.....so not fair.......when I was 16 I had to drive an Astro mini van to school....and I had to pay my own insurance on the thing....ok the parentals also let me drive the nissan Sentra to, but geesh.....i didn't get a close to 40K truck to drive......maybe if I did I wouldn't have gone 3,000 miles away to go to school. don't mind me I am just being jealous.
