could be worse... they tried to put me in an Aspire once! I laughed at them!

I suspect it's the suspension.... they did those exact same things with mine.....

I'm in 'STOP AND GO' traffic everyday on the way to and fro work.

Either I'm getting used to it (which I find hard to believe) or, mine is thunking less. Hard to explain.

I actually thought about it yesterday on the way home and tried continuously to reproduce the thunk and, honestly don't think I ever did.

I wonder if whatever was thunking is wearing and thus, de-thunking. Wear isn't good however... it shouldn't have been thunking in the first place.

Troy-thanks for keeping us posted on the happenings with the thunk. I know it's a royal pain in the A$$ and you've been great by keeping us informed. I, for one, really appreciate your effort.

rockpile, gijane...etc...

just got the truck back and talked to the service department manager. they've decided to call in the big dogs. service department manager said they talked about putting a new output shaft in the transfer case or maybe even replacing the transfer case...but decided instead to have a ford engineering rep come out and look at my truck. i guess this guy comes around every month or so and they are gonna setup a meeting with him soon. manager said they'd rather do this then start just changing out parts that might be okay. which i totally agree with!! for now they put a another new driveshaft on the truck and the thunk is much lessened. btw, getting my truck to thunk is absolutely no problem at all. it does it at virtually every stop so the service manager knows full well what i'm experiencing...they just don't know exactly what to do about it. so up the food chain the problem goes.

so, to shorten this story...at least they are working on the problem and as of yet have not said to me, "it is normal"!

Well, the higher on the food chain, the better! Let us know Troy. Again, thanks.
