I've got the HD bug deflector on my truck, and i think its great. I think it deflects some of the bugs, althouh some disagree, but i mainly put it on to protect the leading edge of my hood against rock chips and it still looks awsome. Maybe if you don't want it to be too noticible, you could get it painted to match the paint just my .02$

Not my cup of tea but, I believe it's BroncoDave that has one on his truck. He custom painted it to match his Charcoal Blue. Looks pretty damn good...

save your gas money and buy something with a benifit to the vehicle like 3m paint protectant film. if you ever see air pattern over the vehicle with these things on you'll see why they are most worthless on top of making your window sprayers much less effective.

My experience with bug deflectors is mixed. It seemed like they worked better on the 'square-fronted' trucks than those with an 'aero' front end. The contoured ones collect leaves and dirt behind them, plus its hard to clean real good behind them unless they're sticking-out real far. AND, it seems like the bugs that get past them always seem to hit the upper part of the windshield...the hardest part to scrub. SO...I don't have one, and guess what? I got a rock chip/dent about 5" from the leading edge of my hood! A bug guard probably would have prevented it.
I figure it this way...you gotta clean the bugs off of the rest of the truck with or without one, and the rest of the front is gonna get chipped anyway, so why look at that piece of plastic all the time? I think they take away from the clean lines of the truck. Plus I heard that they hurt MPG.
You know what I think is THE WORST?...Those Rams with the 3 piece bug guards! YUK!
So there's my $.02

Four out of five bugs will tell you that bug deflectors are a waste of money.

(One out of five bugs is retarded)

i dont know about that...

mines been on for five years now and it,s got some nasty nicks on it and i cant imagine what the hood would look like if it wasnt there. as to cleaning behind it ,if you place it right you can get behind it but i wanted to make sure i could get behind it to wax the hood so i screwed it on and once a year i take it off and wax the leading edge of the hood

It would be cool if you could get a colormatched or trim matched bugguard, and get the KR emblem in the middle like the HD ones have the HD emblem imbedded in them.

that is a really nice idea harley...where can you get colormatched ones? do you mean the kr symbol sort of engraved in it, or an emblem like on the side panel put onto it?

Sorry. MikeF150 was who I was thinking about on the color matched bugflector and ventvisors.

I believe that he custom painted his own. Might quiz him on the technique.

GOOD LUCK.

i found some, but they are very expensive - $100+ and the emblems are around $20-30 depending on where you get em from.
