Question mods on my new kr supercab

Hey guys...I just got my new 2002 King Ranch Supercab yesterday. It is 10x nicer than my old 97 F150 Longbed, (which was totalled by a drunk driver [everyone is ok, but the truck wasn't]). I can't wait to add some mods!!! I've read through almost all of the King Ranch threads , and I've seen some awesome trucks!

I am thinking of putting my 1 month old dual flowmasters on it that i cut off of my old truck before they hauled it away, but I want to drive it around a bit before i do anything to my new baby.

I also want to install one of those remote starters with a 2500ft range and it has a transmitter that has an lcd screen that alarms you if anyone is messing with your truck. Here is the link to the alarm site: http://www.commandocaralarms.com/ite...?ProductID=496

Anyone know if these mods will void the warranty? I was researching adding aftermarket equipment to new vehicles and if it voids the warranty, and i found out this:

Most vehicle owners are not aware they are protected by federal law: the Magnuson-Moss Warranty – Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975. Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, aftermarket equipment which improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states that aftermarket equipment voids the warranty. Most states have warranty statutes, as well. Which provide further protections for vehicle owners.

In other words, that means a dealer can’t wiggle out of his legal warranty obligation merely because you install aftermarket equipment. To find out if any aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle’s warranty, check the owner’s manual. It is likely the language you are looking for appears under a heading such as “What Is Not Covered” Although the language seems negative, remember your vehicle manufacturer is simply saying he does not cover the aftermarket products themselves. He is not saying that the products would void the vehicle warranty.

Thanks, and gimme some feedback

Ony way your flowmaster mod might void your warranty is if you take the "cat" out. As long as you do your exhaust as a catback you"ll be fine. I have put a flowmaster on mine that is a catback system.

For the lack of remembering those members who own a KR S/CAB... here's one lousy quality picture that I remembered seeing on ebay...

I saw an estate green KR scab this weekend. talked to the owners wife and she was totaly clueless about the truck. didn't know what size engine and didn't realize that the leather made the KR. she asked me if my truck had the same interior. ARRRRG....some women...what can ya do? but I did get a good look at the truck.....very dirty, but it was still a KR and still very sharp.

And yes I will walk up to any stranger who is driving a KR and talk to them.

The 2003 will be a flareside. I'm curious to see it when it comes out..... What's more, it comes in black as well... Might give the HD a run for its money

Interesting that this popped up...

I talked with a guy that owned a 01 KR 4x2 Charcola (LOL) this past weekend that was at a cookout that my wife and I attended. Would've killed to have had a camera for some pics but, his looked like A$$! It was MEGA dirty and he said he'd never waxed it and ran it through car washes. 45 minutes later after the paramedics revived me after passing out, we got to talking about the other King Ranch trucks that he had seen....

He described mine as the 'PURPLE' King Ranch and that he'd seen a few of the NEON GREEN King Ranch trucks. Naturally, I quickly corrected him (and purchased him some corrective eye surgery). Come to find out, this guy lives about 3 minutes away from my house and I had seen his wife NUMEROUS times driving around the area. (mind you, this cookout was about 2 hours away from where we live).

Well, it's coming up on the end of the day. I'm going to need to go out and check on my Purple truck in a few minutes and get the hell outta dodge.

ROFL

thats a good one. LoL j/k. They are both cool trucks, but different kinds of "cool" if you know what i mean. The L is another kind of cool.
