Angry Oh the Horror!

Well, my baby finally took a hit last night. My garage door opener decided to drop the garage door on my truck last night as I was backing it out. It scratched up the top pretty bad, and I ripped the door off the track. Hopefully it will not be too bad to get fixed.

I think it was the houses' way of getting back at me for not speding enough time fixing it.

That sucks man. Really sorry to hear about that. Good luck with the insurance company....it's always a beech to deal with them...

Again, sorry to hear about your truck... good luck.

Thanks Rock. The Insurance adjuster (probably will adjust my wallet) is coming out this morning so I am going to claim everything on my homeowners. Hopefully that will be easier than on my Auto insurance.

I hope you fired your garage door opener! Sure, it'll be tough opening your own garage door for a while, but trust me, when you find a new (*better*) garage door opener, it will be well worth it. He's lucky you didn't punch him once too......

Good luck with your insurance. Here's hoping they take good care of you.

This is why I always keep our homeowner's and auto with the same carrier. Lower premiums and fewer dilemmas in these situations.

Hope your baby heals up nicely.

Thank you all so much for you r concern. And I know Sarah can definitely feel my pain.

I talked with Insurance guys to day and homeowners will take care of everything. Let's just hope I get my truck back in a timely fashion! I could not stand driving a rental for too long.

Golfer,

Sorry to hear your truck has damage. You got any pictures, I'd like to see what happened to your truck and door?

Hope you come out okay or at least break even.

The opener was a Lift-Master which is normally a great opener, but my Door was really cheap (windsor). Thats what happens when the home builder wants to save a $100. Cheap parts.

I did not take any pics before I took it in, but I will call and ask the body shop to take a couple for me.

Did you get an estimate to have it repaired?

I'm kinda curious to see if KR specific parts are more expensive. Then again, if it hit on top, I doubt you damaged a KR specific part.

Skagel, you have any insight on this? I know they're having trouble getting parts for your KR. Anyone else having problems of this nature getting parts (besides the damn tailgate badge).

Thanks folks.

IMO....which means nothing because I have no insight, but I can understand why the badge might be backordered, but why my airdam.....the only thing special about it is the color.....it uses the same molds as any other Lariat....don't know.....maybe my dealership is yanking my chain, but I honestly doubt it ....after all they are only charging me for the parts and not for the labor.

There were no KR specific parts damaged, so it was only $200 for the body work to pull out the dents and repaint the roof. I am also having them take care of a couple of Rock chips in my hood I got last week. I guess my newly painted Bug Shield will have to wait to go on.
