i need a favor

hey, would someone look in their owner's manual and try to figure out when the tranny fluid in our trucks (4r70w) is supposed to be changed under normal operating conditions. i just looked through mine twice and couldn't find any reference to the 4r70w tranny. i'm i just blind or did ford goof up the manual...?

yes, but Tomas is to young for that kind of fluid change so I haven't bothered to look at what he takes......sorry.....when I get home tonight I will see if I can find the information in my owners manual...you probably just accidently skimmed over it......no big deal......took me 20 minutes to figure out what kind of oil my sister truck took when I looked in her manual....not realizing all I had to do was pop the hood and look at the oil cap....sometimes I wonder about myself I tell ya

well, i looked at the maintenance schedule again, and it doesn't mention the 4r70w at all. mentions the other trannies (4r100, etc), but not the one i'm interested in...

I have been experiencing some problems posting a reply when using IE5. Thought I would try Netscape to see if it works any better.

My 2001 KR came with a separate maintenance schedule booklet. It was included in the same folder as the owners manual. It lists the transmission fluid change interval as 30k for all transmissions under 'normal' driving conditions.

my '02 maintenance schedule mentions all other trannies except the 4r70w in the normal section. in the special (severe) service section it doesn't specify any trannies, just says change fluid every 30k...guess i'll just follow the severe service intervals...
