I can see the marketing presentations at some of these aftermarket firms now..... 45% of the aftermarket will be Skagel, the other 55% everyone else......
FYI, I will be replacing my westin guard with a manik....and I am not the only one having to replace her/his brush guard.....

Re: I know a secret!

now your chore for letting you date my sis, LOL, is to teach her how to drive that truck off road although i'm glad she finally used the 4x4 for what it was made for.

Pkagel,

There shouldn't be much paint matching involved. The bumper cover comes pre-painted from the supplier., and the fender has a slight scratch that will probably be rubbed out (it didn't appear to be even through the clearcoat to me). The majority of the impact was taken by the guard and the bumper. I haven't really looked underneath it, but I suspect that the bumper mrackets deformed just the way they should. Either way, it took the impact quite well. (I'm just glad it wasn't ME she was following! I still had my trailer hitch coupler in with no ball on it, and I think it would have gone right through the plastic and into the power steering or trans cooler, if not the radiator! That would have been a MAJOR bummer!

LOL

Ok, i really have to laugh at this thread.. I actually got to ride in Tomas while in the dunes and was quite impressed by the heavy foot that miss skagel had.. I had a 12 pack of beer riding on the fact that she would get up test hill and by golly she did it. WOO HOO, free beer for me.. It's a given that the skidplate will get bashed in but that can't even count as damage...why bend it back GI Joe if it's just going to happen again.. I just wish i had my truck running later in the day as i busted a CV joint with 38" tires... oops..

Now you just have to get that navigation system put in since you ended up in Chicago driving from the western shores of MI back home towards Detroit.. how you didn't see that you entered IN, i still don't know.. HEHEHE

Nah, just kidding. That's pretty good. Glad to hear you got a freebie. We all need those...

Glad everyone gets a good laugh at my expense!!! Ordered the GPS on thursday and it should be here on monday......7 different languages and I can choose a male or felmale voice...wooohooo....

Well, as some of us know getting replacement parts for our babies tends to take some time.....it is going to take 3 weeks before my new bumper is in......and at least 1-2 months before my Manik stainless steel brush guard is in.....so Tomas sits in the garage with his injuries.....I can't drive him like he is.....poor Tomas doesn't get to come out and play in the sun.....

I think Tomas is going to grow up and be severly depressed due to his many restrictions from playing.

Sarah,

Just take off all the damaged components and drive the damn thing so you don't give Tomas a complex.

My truck might not get washed every day but I take her for a RIDE every day and she always smiles, bath or no bath she never stinks and she asks for more.

Later,
DaveMan

actually the snow is fine....it is the evil cancer causing salt I won't have Tomas subjected to.
can't play in the salt ... can't play in the sand
sand contains particles of salt and is very damaging to paint ... can't play in the sun ...
well, you know what the UV rays can do to your skin.....think about what it does to a perfect paint job.
can't play in the pollen ...
I never said Tomas can't play in the pollen.....although I am not sure if he is alergic or not...j/k
can't play in the rain ...
in Michigan we have some pretty bad acid rain...not good for the paint.
can't play in the fall leaves ...
fall leaves are full of god knows what and none of which is good for the paint
[/B]
please don't take any of this serious.....I am not that ****!
