New KR Owner

Hello Fellow King Ranchers! I am the proud owner of a brand new 2002 King Ranch Lariat F-150 with 18 miles on it. Here are my particulars:

Estate Green with Arizona Beige 2 tone - definitely one of the most tasteful automotive greens ever.
2002 4X4 Supercab
3:55 LS Axle
Castano Leather Seats
5.4 Liter V8 - 260 HP
Off Road Suspension and Skid Plates
Grill Insert and Bed Liner added aftermarket.

Anything else you wanna know about?

My father-in-law was a 30 year Ford designer, so even though the sticker was $35k, the Z-Plan with the SuperCab rebate and a Trooper as a trade-in made it very do-able. I have to say, up until 3 weeks ago I was set on a Trans-Am WS6, but I went to our local high-volume Ford dealer for kicks and grins and was totally smitten by the King Ranch bug. I am absolutely amazed by this vehicle and its incredible stance. I get comments and looks everywhere I go in it. Even the "car guys" at work who are amazingly **** about vehicles give it a "thumbs way-up"! Even my wife who would have never wanted to be seen driving a pick-up wants to use it one or two days out of the week.

So, it's great to be here and I look forward to all the King Ranch banter.

welcome welcome welcom...you are i believe our first scab KR owner here.....so welcome my friend.....so what color? what mods do you have planned? what did you name your baby? (my baby...his name is tomas) I hope you take care of it because if you don't you will have it confiscated......anyways hope you can make it to either our texas meeting that the one and only Daveman is depserately trying to get together or our KS get together which well......I forget who originated that idea (my apologies...i am very bad with remembering names....hence the reason i have a vanity plate w/ my KR's name on it)

anyways welcome!!!

Thanks, Sarah

Wow, you mean I'm the first KR Scab here? They seem to be pretty prevelant here in Central Texas. I did want a Charcoal Blue S'cab, but alas the only four shipped to the entire state were gone, so I had to "settle" for the Estate Green.

The truck also has the awesome Goodyear Wranglers. I am going to comb the boards for modification ideas, but in my opinion doing a whole lot to it may detract from the stock beauty of it. I welcome any suggestions. As far as names, well, I welcome suggestions for that, too. How about "Pookie"?

I'll comb the trip thread for more details on the get together. I just found this board, so I don't know if we can make it or not, but we'll sure try! Take care!

Hi from a Fellow Texan !

(Well not quite but you know the saying......I wasn't born here, but I got here as quick as I could ! )

We stay as long as were allowed 'til immigration kick us out !

Don't get me going on that one.....been coming to the States for 20 years....God knows how much I've spent in that time......cars, travel, house, boats....and yet they still look at us like something that crawled out from under a stone and kick us out every 90 days!

Banter...well you will certainly get plenty of that...the trick is to pick out fact from fiction!
(See the recent thread on gifts that came with the KR....I'm sure there are still people out there wondering why they have not received tickets for their round the world cruise!)

Hi Lenticular. Thanks for the welcome.

nuChad...Strange, the dealer seemed to go to the mat trying to line up a blue s'cab for me. Maybe I misunderstood about the number shipped, but they said that there were only four total in all the inventory records of Texas dealers which covered the entire model year, and they were all gone. Anyway, I am still quite happy with the Estate Green. What, a car dealer handing me a line of ****?? No way!!

It dosen't matter guy since you bought the estate green they are going to give you a hardtime. THEY don't like that color. That's fine mine is Estate Green and wouldn't have it any other way. IF no one like well that can just........ will leave it at that. Welcome to the community.

Who is "THEY" ?

When I bought my KR I had a choice of all 3 colors and it was a real hard choice I don't mind telling you !

I actually quite wanted the green though wasn't too bothered.
My wife had the deciding vote and went with chestnut...but neither of us would have been too upset with the other choices!

I think the Estate green is a classy color...well they all are.

Refer back to my earlier thread asking about alternative colors if you had the choice.

I would actually like Arizona Beige as the main color, but not sure about the accent!

Welcome and congrats. IMO you picked a great color. I also wanted a Blue one, but I am very happy with my Green and would not trade it for blue now that I have it.

Have fun making Mods to your truck. The obsession has only just begun........

Thanks for the good wishes. Dufunnel, that truck is what we would say here in Austin: "Pimpalicious!" Very sweet!

Welcome KRAustin, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing an Estate Green in person yet, but I'm sure if Ford added it to the treasured list of the only three color options, it must be good. I like my Chestnut over the Blue ones I've seen.

Finally, another green KR!

Welcome to the board!

I was starting to feel outnumbered by the chestnut and blue KRs around here!
