Don't you LOVE it when...
Went out cruising today. Through town... through the country... through downtown... Through two Ford Dealerships that were open...
Couldn't tell you how many people nearly broke their necks while checking out my KR. Don't you love it? Talk about an ego booster!
Damn, do we have nice trucks or what!?!

got the looks a lot when i had the 93 lightning, even had dealers that didn't know what the heck it was. now with the vw thing i get even more looks as some people actually think it's a small hummer, like i can even come near to affording a hummer. it is nice to be in something different than the standard toyota camery or honda civic.
OMG rockpick that is so funny.....i took my thomas out of the garage this weekend because it had rained last week so the salt was off the roads and i just happened to pull into a ford dealership to look at a lightning and this old guy walks up to my truck and starts asking me about it....man i love these trucks...
The annoying thing is that the service department doesn't know what I'm talking about. I've talked to a number of different people and the response is about the same. One conversation went something like this.
Me, "Hi, this is Adam. Was calling to see if my King Ranch was done?" Tech, "Well, I don't know. (pause) I don't see a King Ranch in the computer. What is that?" Me, "My new '02 F150 SuperCrew KR." Tech, "Oh, F150. Well we have a few of them in, what's your name again?" Me, "Why, do you have a lot of KR's in and don't know which is mine?" (yeah right) Tech, "Well, I don't know what a KR is, and they are only in the computer by model F150." ...so I give him my full name and eventually figure out what the status is.
I think we will have to petition Ford to put the KR as its own enity in their computers. It shouldn't be this hard.
And yes, people do check us out and that feels good too.

Well, it isn't it's own entity, it is a trim package a cut above the Lariat, so Ford won't give it its own category, just like it doesn't with the Harley. The funny thing is that everyone knows what a Harley is, and they were limited production. Ours weren't, and there are still fewer than the HD, and fewer people know about them. I feel priveleged that it is still such a rare sight because that means it will keep its value, god forbid something should ever happen that I need to get its full worth back (i.e. totaled in an accident, because I will never sell it).

Also, THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO TALK OF ACCIDENTS or WRECKS in our KRs! That's my biggest fear. *cringes* That's it, I'm going to church to pray about my truck...

Ok..PKagel...I see NO hummer resemblance...WHATSOEVER! But I guess it's just opinion? (I have always hated VW...I know Hitler loved them though)

i never said it looked like a hummer, some idiots can't seem to tell the difference though, i just thought it was quite funny. not really worried if you hate vw or not, this isn't a vw list, it's a ford truck list and since i've owned my fair share 1971, 80, 93 and my sister is on here i b.s. now and then. seems a little excessive to tell me that you hate vw's and hitler loved them like that is supposed to make them bad or good cars. by that line of thinking i guess you would have to sell the kranch as henry ford himself was quite an avid **** supporter and sent quite a bit of money to hitler. i think you get my drift and unless you work for ford i would imagine that you have owned other makes of cars that were just fine also. i'm not trying to start a flame war here or anything and i didn't post the pic of my car on here, sarah did just playing around with me as sisters will do so please, enough with the car bashing as vw's and ford trucks fit different puposes. anyway, i just like to talk cars and it's always nice to get a different perspective. by talking to you guys i'm certain to learn something the vw's guys would not think of and who knows, i may bring up something ya'll wouldn't think up, like the leather conditioner.
wait, just noticed that you have a jetta pic added to your letter. of course that looks nothing like a hummer. the VW Thing or in german the VW Kubelwagen is what i was talking about when i said some people think they look like hummers. jetta pretty much looks like a jetta and gets horribly copied by the japanese.
