Finally fitted THAT KR tailgate badge !

My KR tailgate badge finally arrived today after a successful bid on E Bay....took 2 weeks but thats Christmas mail for you.

Sure enough the lugs on the back are different from the ones on the fender badge but I figured out a way to fit it that I think looks fine.
I decided to leave the original F150 Supercrew badge in place rather than risk a problem getting it off....I tried halfheartedly with fishing line round the back and boy it was fixed on good!
So, I cut off the F150 bit from the KR badge and just mounted the symetrical remaining bit centrally above the original badge.
You just have to snip the one remaining lug off with small end cutters and touch in the edge of the badge if you are pernickity like me !
Will try to post a pic soon when I (sniff sniff) have to leave my beautiful truck in store and return to the UK.

PS My personal plate (TX UK) was mistaken much to my horror the other day .
It stands for Texas...United Kingdom
of course., but the other day someone asked me if my opinion of Texas was really YUK !
But thats what you get down here in the Rio Grande where someone today in HEB said " You come from England ?...You speak good English!"
Sadly she was serious and this isn't the first time it's happened!

Hey Lenticular,

Well I say there old boy, we should have a cup of tea don't you think? Yes, yes, that is truely amazing that your English is so good since you came from England you know! I would think the lady who made the bloody statement would know better but I guess there's folks who are less fortunate intellectually, hey old boy?

I wish you didn't have to part with your KR, I can only imagine what it's going to be like driving smaller cars in England knowing you could be driving something fit for the King and Queen over in Texas.

Give my best to the Queen sir. I spoke this with a little british accent but I guess you can't really tell, "A"? Also with a swist of Canadian too.

I would like to see that pic when you find the time to snap it!

Good luck and Happy holidays chap!

Cheers for now!

Tailgate Badge

All your requests for those KR Badges must have got the Engineer's attention. My 4-day old KR already had the same KR Badge on the tailgate as the one on either side. I will take some pictures to post onec I get my B/O accessories on.

acbell,
the '02 KR's are supposed to have the KR badge on the tailgate, but for some reason they messed up when building mine and put a f150supercrew badge on it so i wanted to make my truck right. that is why i ordered a badge. the first one i ordered was wrong so i ordered another. oh well.....makes a great looking clock for my desk at work though....

Ahhh, okay, I think I've located a picture of the badge. What's involved on the install. Any holes required? Does it just 'stick on' with tape?

All insight is appreciated!

Also, how do I remove the f150supercrew emblem? Is it bolted on? Can I 'melt it off' with a hairdryer?

sorry, i can't help ya rockpick....i am having the dealership do mine since it was supposed to come with one on it they are doing the work for free....although i am paying for the emblem because i ordered it someplace else back in late november early december...back ordered still so i haven't received it......but i did order one for the fender and it has two little plastic dowl looking things...no screws....turned it into a clock for my office...anyways i think there are two holes on the tailgate under your supercrew badge....with any luck these holes will match the ones on the KR badge....if not the badge comes with some seriuosly tuff sticky tape....probably 3m stuff.

Believe it or not the holes are different for the fender and tailgate badges !
I snipped the mounting posts (plastic) off my spare fender badge with end snips.
The tape is well strong enough to hold the badge in place, but as I think you know from the photos I mounted mine above the original Screw badge.
As I said in my E mail to you I cut the spare "150" bit off the badge with a carefully used junior hacksaw, then matched in the end where the color was slightly different....would not be noticeable to 99.99% of the human race!
