Talking Ordered my KR finally

Well after many months of looking and not finding what I wanted I finally broke down and orderd my 02 KR the last week of Nov. Not too many supercrews around L.I. Even less KR's. Dealer thinks it may be in before Christmas. I won't hold my breath on that.

I kept drooling over everone else's KR's and just could not take it any more. Lots of great info on this site. It has been very helpful thanks to all.

I will keep everyone posted.

My recent non-KR order experience was less than one month.

Ordered 10/23/01
Received 11/19/2001

2002 Supercrew Lariot

It not a KR but it took less than a month from order to delivery.

Specs

4x4
5.4
moonroof
split bench rear seat
limited slip
sliding rear window
bed extender
Trailer tow pkg
skid plates

The tough was deciding on the color. It was a toss up between the Charcoal Blue and the Chestnut. I like the way Daveman's looks but never got to see one in person. So I went with the blue.

I would like to get a bedrug for it as well as a lid. Any suggesttions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Come on guys and gals let me know especially about how you like the lids you bought for your trucks.

I have the same Charcoal Blue and I got a Leer cap. I have been very happy with it, and it was considerably cheaper than the ARE's. I got the King Ranch Arizona Beige Ford factory bedliner and I really like it. No one around here has ever seen one like it before. It matches all the tan trim perfectly. Too bad I covered up the bed with a cap. I've got pictures in my gallery.

I went with an ARE lid...which cost me a pretty penny...it matches great.....i had it hooked up with my ford remote starter so when i unlock the doors on the second push it also unlocks the lid. it also automatically locks it when you put the truck in drive or push the button.....i love it....i had a spray in bedliner done...Linex...in an arizona beige.....it matches pretty good....i love it....you get the feeling i love my truck?...well, i do....pictures of my Thomas are in my gallery

You guys are killing me with all your upgrades. I'm lagging way behind, the only thing that I've done is put new wheels and snowtires on! Oh, wait, I put a bug guard on.

LINYScrew:

First I want to say Congrats. Take it from someone who just took delivery of the same (almost) exact truck you just ordered, you are gonna Love this truck. WOW. I think you picked the right color. You cant lose however with the KR color combos. The truck is a dream. This is my 2nd S-Crew, and after a few days of driving, this truck is much smoother, less road noise and real sleek. It is a great drive. I will be putting another ARE LSII Lid on mine just like I had on my first one. I love it. The looks of that lid are like none other and I think it adds alot to the truck. Great quality lid too.

Here's my new ride and I threw in a pic of my 1st S-Crew w/ ARE Lid. Highly reccomend ARE. Congrats! I have 343 miles on mine now.

Black S-Crew Lariat w/ ARE LSII Lid. I have more pics of it in photo gallery.

Update

Thanks for the info everyone. I will have to start looking around to see what is available.

It seems I will have a little more time than I thought. I talked to the dealer today. I got my VIN number today and he said the truck is scheduled for production the first week in January. Now I'm really worried. You know how alot of people get around the holidays.

Cool Ordered KR

This is my 2nd SC, the 1st one was an XLT, this time, I can play with the big boys! Local dealer had ordered one for inventory and I reserved it. I just found out that it rolled of the line today and should be here by the weekend. Moonroof, 5.4 4WD, 3.55 Limited Slip, Bed Extender, 6 disc CD and whatever else comes with the KR, btw, it's Charcoal Blue. Can't beat it, A-plan, less $1000 rebate! Couldn't wait for it!

Congrats gonzo2540,

Skagel is right, you'll absolutely love the King Ranch truck however, not quite as much as Skagel. No one can love their truck more than her, unless you talk to dufunnel as he's running a close second.

I'm partial to Chestnut color but that Charcoal blue is really nice too. Actually, there is no King Ranch that looks bad, they're all great colors IMO.

Good luck and welcome to the close knit KR family where the owners are few but the spirits are high!

DaveMan
