Spare Tire Lock
#4
Here's the reason I'm asking. The ordering guides show the spare tire lock as standard on all F150's for 2002. The 2002 Ford F150 eSourcebook shows the "Standard Spare Tire Lock" as the first item under the WHAT'S NEW heading and again under WHAT'S CHANGED FOR THE MODEL YEAR. I have yet to find anyone who has it on their new truck. My dealer says that it is only on the F250's and none of the F150's on their lot has one. I plan to talk to my dealer again this week.

Thanks for the info. I get a different story at my dealer. They say it's a misprint ,etc.,etc. You're right, not one F150 has come from Ford with the lock. They also told me that the lock is virtually worthless as (1) there is only 2 or 3 different "keys"and (2) all you have to do is cut the cable to drop the spare and steal it. They would gladly take one off another F150 and put it on mine if they ever had one that came with it. If I want it Iwill have to buy it. I have shown them the brochure, ordering guide and even the Ford Training Web site that has "New for 2002..." Customer Relations Manager is the aftermarket person at the dealer and is not helpful. I opted for a lock I found on the Web that appears to negate the two above negatives. Let me know when you get yours and how well it works.

P.S. I have not received even one item from the dealer that I did not pay for. I even had to trade the money owed me from my personal license plates for an extra key.
